Great local electric co op. Everyone in the office is helpful and when you call, you actually get a live person who is local! They handle outages quickly and with updates and post to their social media page updates as well. Top notch! Consider yourself lucky if you purchase a home that has service with Coastal Electric! Linemen in the field are always working hard as well even during storms!

I am very lucky to live in a home serviced by Coastal Electric. When the rare outage occurs, it's almost fun watching their updates and how they handle restoring service.

If I had 2 houses I wanted to purchase, both equal in amenities and price - I would choose the one serviced by Coastal Electric. It's literally a deciding factor when purchasing a home.

What a joke. Nothing in place to override 100 reconnect fee. if you make a mistake, no matter how long you've been a customer with a perfect payment history and great credit, it doesn't matter. Most corporations in the US have something in place for customer who handle business, and they typically value these customers, but not coastal electric. Because they're the only show in town they can operate like this. Patricia the service rep was not helpful at all.

They get our power on in record time after every storm including after hurricanes. They're incredibly responsive and communicative on their social media pages (other businesses should take a page out of their book). They go out in inclement weather and bad situations to make sure their community has power. Plus they're active in their community through charitable functions and initiatives too. I can't say in any other place I've ever lived that I felt positive feelings about my energy provider. Here is truly the first place.

Quick to fix outages and always stay on top of letting the community know what’s going on and sometimes who the technician is that is out fixing the problems! We’ve lived here for 2.5 years, through two hurricanes and have never lost power for more than a few minutes total.

Things I appreciate in an electric company: constant supply of electricity, quick restoration after a power outage, frequent communication about outages (what's happening, how long the power will be out, etc.), a nice person on the other end of the phone when I call about an issue. Coastal Electric Cooperative does all these things with excellence! My family and I are grateful to live in the area they serve.

Electric rates are doubled within a brand new building. Currently in a smaller apartment than prior and paying double what I did before. The company suggest having an energy audit due to compliant but the company themselves feel the rates are acceptable. Additionally, when calling to complete energy audit no one is available to set up audit. Management is unaware of why employees are unable to answer or return phone calls. Multiple added fees to monthly bill. My suggestion is to stay away from this company if able. Two star rating due to the line men are quick to resolve power outages when they occur, which they occur frequently.

Mobile App is not accurate. I paid my bill up to date according to the app and then got disconnected. Was charged $100 deposit and $25 reconnect fee when it was a proven error on their end. The ridiculous Franchise Tax Fees as well as monthly facility charges of more than $30 is ridiculous when you have no choice in power companies. Coastal Electric is a RIP OFF with uneducated employees who are unaware of the billing process or fees associated with your bill. I had to have a manager call me in order to break down the charges on my bill.
