They came to my door and said I would save money on my electric bill and it keeps going up. Trying to cancel and they are saying it will take 6 months. Scam don’t sign up. You will pay more even if your usage is less.

I had this service in Illinois for almost 3 years what a rip off. In April of 2024 I called and cancelled service, but they never cancelled it and would not tell me what their cancellation policy and procedure was. In July of that year I called Comed and had them remove Clearway from my account. Then in September I sold the house and moved out of state. Now in November I received a bill forwarded to me for $447 charges with $259 of it being for October. Interesting since I removed them from our service and sold the house but they are still trying to bill me. Consumer beware they are criminals.

Stay away from this company, it's a rip off. They will say that you can cancel anytime and that is not true. Kept requesting to talk with a supervisor and mentioning that it takes up to 6-8 months and when I spoke with the sales person he stated I could cancel at anytime. I called them back in April to cancel and they came up with a bunch of excuses that they have to get approval with my Electric provider and when I reached out to the provider, they mentioned that there is nothing they need to do on their end.

Stop billing because National Grid mentioned that they have no agreement with you all.

Scam! They have continued withdrawing money from my account five months after I moved away to a new home and cancelled service. Customer service lies that they will stop charging me, but they continue. Next stop: court

Even though I strongly support community solar, Clearway has been horrific to deal with when canceling my account when moving. The representative on the phone finally admitted that the sales team mislead me. But now I'm caught up in the drama of the utility documentation vs. what Clearway "needs" to cancel my account and I am truly worried I'll need to take legal action to cancel this account. Find another way to invest in solar. Will update if they figure this out and do the right thing.

I rated Clearway with 1 star only because that is the minimum rating that will permit me to post this tale of woe.

I made the sad mistake of signing up with this outfit around 2021. Their "solar farm" was not yet operating but I was advised that I would be served when that happened.

Subsequently, I had solar panels actually installed on my residence so that Clearway was going to be of no benefit inasmuch as I was "self-contained".

I notified them in April 2023 that I was terminating my association with them and explained why.

Realizing that I had made a commitment; I did make six monthly periods during the April through September 2023 period totaling $721.73. I did this despite not actually receiving any benefit from them but because I had made said commitment.

Shame on me for not more completely vetting them.

They are continuing to bill me and I have told them that I do not intend to make payments for a non-existent benefit.

I have now received a Notice of Default from them and they are threatening to report me to credit reporting agencies and partitioning to garnish my wages. (I don't know how successful they will be as I am a Federal annuitant).

In conclusion; I liken Clearway to a leech that is well imbedded into me.

I would strongly advise anyone I might influence to avoid any relationship with Clearway.

Dishonest company. Please stay away from this company. Me and I my wife chose to be environmental friendly and signed up with Clearway. When we had to sell our house and called them to cancel the service, they say different things each time we call them. Once they say we need to get final bill from Eversource. Next time they say we will need to find a replacement for us to get out. Then they send an email saying it will take 6 months to 1 year to process the request. I still do not understand why and how I will get a bill for the house I will sell. As reviews provided by others, this company is a BIG scam.

Danger! Beware of this company! They are a scam! They proclaim to be in collaboration with your utility company, but they are not. I signed on with this company, believing that they were the electric supplier. Subsequently, I sold my house and moved to a new state that does not allow Clearway Community Solar energy credits. I believed that when I cancelled my utility agreement, my agreement with Clearway was automatically terminated. When I did try to terminate, I was given unclear information as to how to do so. Instead, they continue to send me outrageous bills with no explanation. They use a third party for customer service, and they are completely unhelpful. They read from a script and can provide no information or help beyond that. I've sent many emails which receive no response. They are now calling me daily demanding money, but will not offer a credible explanation of what the charges are for. I have had a perfect credit score, and this company is threatening to ruin it.

In response to company's reply: None of the details of the contract were explained to me. I was led to believe that the company was collaborating with my utility company, and did not know until one day ago - when I spoke to a representative of the utility company - that the relationship was not as promoted by Clearway. I have made numerous attempts to contact customer service, and have not spoke to anyone who could explain the details of the contract to me.
