We have been at COTH for 8 years now. We have loved being connected, serving and growing here! The BIBLE is taught with amazing wisdom and is so relative. We didn’t want to be at a large church when we came, BUT GOD!!! We love small groups and bc of those, it doesn’t feel BIG! God has rescued us through many trials and seasons as we reached up for prayer. We host a prayer small group in our home.

Very rude!!! I don’t think this is a place of god rather a place of rude people!! Please don’t reach out for help or a prayer they are just gonna cut you off in mid sentence and transfer yah! The my Heavenly Father wasn’t lying when he put in the Bible that not everyone that yells lord lord will make it to heaven and not everyone who’s in church will make it either !! Wow just wow !!! I

This church waste so much money and food. Every get together and event they have, there’s tons of food left over and the just throw it away. They don’t donate it, or feed the homeless such a waste. I mean take it to the local fire dept or police dept and let the local men and women serving the community have a meal or something. It’s such a waste and they waste so much. Paying a company to come in and take trash out when they are volunteers for the church already up there just have them take the trash out, stop with the wasteful spending and put the money to a good use! Plus these people that go here are so fake and pretend to be nice to the public but if they don’t know you they won’t talk to you or even acknowledge you. I know I went there for almost 3 years. Did their little growth track and everything, was on a small group it didn’t matter what I did to be apart of that church I still felt like an outsider. It’s a “click” and if you aren’t in it, you never will be. This isn’t how a church should be. This church is about getting together for every little reason and seeing who can eat more and how much they can waste. It’s a shame.

I was helping in the children’s department& I loved working with those sweet kids. But due to my health problems I am unable to work with them. I love the ladies who work so hard each week & made me feel a part of this family. I pray God gives me strength to come back & be able to worship with my church family again. I love Church of the Highlands family. Please pray for me & my family. Thank you & God Bless ❤️?❤️

If you want a high energy worship service and a soul reaching message, this is the church for you. Large enough to meet every need and yet small enough to make you feel at home. Come and meet sincere, loving people, that will welcome you with open arms. Invest four weeks and you will say that you have found your forever church home.

I have been coming to fultondale highlands almost 3 years now. My man even helped build the building.

My pros are this:
I've never gotten attitude from ONE person. Never had a bad face, bad remark, snarky, nothing.
Which is what I'm used to on a daily basis in society. That’s literally my luck. I can be as nice as anyone possibly can be and still receive attitude for no reason. Lol

It is like this at most churches as well. Especially in the south. I've gotten attitude at (Gardendale First Baptist) many times. All the times my son has done their VBS.. Either from people who go there as members, or from employees/volunteers. Just because I didn't understand something or asked a question or trying to get to my child. They are also very unorganized and never on the same page. HIGHLANDS is not. Highland’s is very organized. They always know the game plan! This is important to me.

At highlands I've only seen bright, happy, smiling faces, being greeted everytime I walk in a doorway. They are so kind, helpful, loving.. etc. Just like Pastor Chris teaches and encourages everyone to be. My son’s previous school teacher is also the children’s church director. And my youngest son loves his teacher Mrs. Nicole. We can count on them being taken care of correctly. This is important to me. They LISTEN to you. They help you when you’re crying not wanting to leave your baby. You can't even walk in Highland’s kids area without a sticker, or your children with you. They have even questioned their Daddy before! That’s how strict they are about it. And we love that. That means my children are protected. At GFBC, they don't pay as much attention.

Cons:
They may not do as much as other churches, you don’t get to watch a preacher preach right in front of you, their VBS is shorter, they don’t have Sunday schools, they don’t really have a choir or kids plays, they only have one Wednesday service a month, and you may not feel as “one” with the church, but it’s up to you to get involved. It’s up to you to serve. It’s up to you to come get the message. And they really do so much for the communities with their Serve Days! I love that part about them. You CAN get involved if you want to. I didn’t like how GFBC is asking for money and “raising” money for missions every Vacation Bible School week. HIGHLAND’s doesn’t do that.

Overall, we love Highlands. I do visit around to other churches like GFBC sometimes to get their message and be involved in their extra activities. But I feel like Highland’s is on the right path toward God. Sometimes I think GFBC copies some of the messages of Highlands. Yes I said it. But Pastor Chris at Highland’s is very educated and teaches the Bible and shares his knowledge in a way that I’ve never seen any preacher do before. And I was raised up in church and private Christian school from birth. It’s definitely good vibes that we leave with every day after service to do better.
