Contacted them about a scam by the third party supplier (SFE Energy) who impersonated local utility supplier but received no help and instead was accused back for not being smart to avoid the scam. They were not helpful at all and will not listen to you because the third party supplier was able to show evidence that we signed the contract even though we told we were tricked and scammed to sign the so called "contract". They didn't want to listen to my explanation. They only said what they wanted to say and hung up on me. Additionally, they were very rude and yelled at me and said my call was the dumbest call ever. Completely disappointed.

SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOT. SFE Energy was previously found liable for scamming customers in Maryland. If you google SFE Energy and cases related, many cases can be found. Truly a disappointing experience with Board of Public Utilities of NJ!

I’m currently addressing an issue with Anthony Visco regarding PSEG. The utility company concealed a gas leak I repeatedly complained to them about for over two years, putting my health and safety at risk. I have video evidence to support this and have shared it with local media and on X. I’ll continue to pursue this publicly until it’s resolved.

Now the BPU has allowed the electric companies across the state a double-digit increase. In some cases, up to 20%! All this after allowing NJNG to raise gas rates by more that 86% in less than 4 years, 35% since Oct 1st, 2024, with no end in sight.
It is apparent that the BPU cares zero for the people they are supposed to stand for. They actions are in complete contradiction to their mission statement.
Did you ever notice that the electric companies increase their rates just before demand goes up and the gas companies do the same, all with the approval of the BPU. Anyone with half a brain would see that increasing rates when demand goes up is a way to maximize profit with no concern for the hardship to the consumer, all at a time when people are struggling to feed their families. Also, the majority of the increase, if not all, is added to the part of the bill you cannot shop around for, the delivery!
This will continue until the people stand up. The BPU is useless, and it is apparent they are looking at the best interest of the utilities and just sucking money from the taxpayers. At the least they could have found a way to issue this increase incrementally and not all at once and at the worst possible time. I also wonder if this is not the way of the government forcing people to spend thousands to find additional ways to reduce energy usage or pay till it hurts for the energy. There is only so much you can do to insulate a home.
Oh, don't forget the social programs for the very few that are eligible and those who know how to scam the system, which by the way we pay for. The utilizes offer them as if they are the ones providing them. We even pay for them to administer these programs! Neither they nor the government foot this bill.

Can anyone explain how it is possible that the BPU approved NJNG raising their delivery charge (3) times in (9) months. The charge went from $0.9500 to $1.2684, a 33.5 % increase. The delivery charge has gone up 81.8 % since May 2021. Someone needs to explain to the people they work for how that is possible! If you use natural gas in New Jersey, especially if you have NJNG, I suggest you check their website for pricing info. NJNG asks the BPU for, and they get, rate increases constantly.

The BPU also allows the utility companies to add an extra 20% to the customer charge if and when the utility company decides to extend a billing cycle. And as a customer you have zero options but to pay it. They call it "PRORATING". Submitting your own meter reading before the extended period kicks in, is ignored.

Look on your bills and you will never see where they show you that they increased the charge and for what, they just change the customer charge hoping nobody will notice. It works, more than 80% of the people I spoke with did not know that they did this never mind were allowed to!

So, here's the deal. I recently had Comcast (aka Infinity) for Cable & Internet in zip code 08088. As I travel extensively, I disconnect service until I return.

I paid a bill of $112.72 on 10/11/24 and returned my set top box and modem on 10/14/22. They are issuing me a credit of $25+ change.

Now, since payments to VomitCast are made in advance, how does my 4 days of equipment rental result in a refund of just a $25, from $112.72?

Shouldn't billing be accurately prorated? I intend to have the BPU look at this rather extensively. However, their website and contact numbers are, dare I say it, incompetently managed.

I had an issue with cables crossing my property while no easement was ever established. I had to deal with 5 companies (15-20 visits) and only thanks to the board, my issue was solved. They even provided me guidance on how to proceed. Thank you!

They don't do anything about the rates that keep going up. They should make the utility companies stop lying that the BPU sets the rates when the utilities has to petition for it. It doesn't help the BPU rubber stamps all the increases through. Everything has gone up 30%+ this year except my salary. What's wrong with this place letting rates for up so much drastically more than inflation. Petitioning them seems to do nothing and often no response.

The NJ Board of Utilities approved a rate increase for utility companies in NJ. This is during a time when housing prices, mortgage interest rates, and vehicle interest rates are high and inflation is causing prices of everything to be unaffordable for most. My bill is more than 5x what it’s been since 12/23. I signed a petition and made a complaint, please do the same. Below are my electric bills since 12/23-
