this place may seem huge and intimidating, but take a minute to take it all in! maybe you don’t know what you want and that’s OK – that’s exactly why you should look around. lots of clothes, tons of books, lots and lots of chairs and miscellaneous furniture (filing cabinets anyone?) I picked up $2.49 frames for pictures, and then I couldn’t resist picking up two books, that I really need to read: The Power Broker and my Brilliant Friend. cashier couldn’t have been funnier, she had me in stitches. Bring a portable fan as I did, and it’s worth the summer adventure and the trek. (by the way: it’s literally right next to Lowe’s, by the parking lot on the East side entrance (not the entrance closest to the subway.)

I thought they would have more second hand furniture to choose from.
I’ll say they do have a variety of books. It’s like a mini library there. They have clothing and shoes as well, fine Chinese porcelain. I bought Chinese porcelain, cashiers didn’t package it with paper or at least ask if I needed packaging and a bag. Music too loud. Store needs to be more organized. There is parking which is a plus.

Big random mix of salvaged things like doors, appliances, sinks, etc. Great resource for DIY or budget rehab, while keeping items out of landfills. And incredibly large section of books and records, easy to walk away with stacks. Clothing is a bit more hit or miss though.

As a donor (working for a furniture company, we once donated a ton of stuff to BIG). As a retail customer, I do have fun going there, if I had space and tools I would go more often. For now, just getting small ready to go stuff, some stationery, books and toys. As someone who used to work with salvaging furniture professionally, I can tell the prices on some pieces are way high. Go check curbside in Brooklyn Heights on a garbage night and you are in for a treat. For example a washer or a stove for 350... with no warranty or any proof it will work fine, I would not risk. It is what it is, a salvage store at hipster Park slope price. Hit or miss. But fun to browse. You have to be a true diyer with skills to use most of what they sell. Assortment includes old doors and window frames, architectural elements, paints, furniture, boards, cut offs of slabs, hardware, washers, stoves, other kitchen and home gadgets, sinks, toilets, some assembled fixtures, toys, equipment, tableware, books, cds, some clothes and shoes.... a lot of it is in sad condition but most with great potential. Furniture needs fixing, most drawers get stuck etc. you have to dig on shelves and in boxes, many areas are impossible to organize I would imagine.
It is *dusty* in there... my allergies got bad after just 5 minutes inside so its a fair warning to those with similar problems. I had a pretty bad episode which only happens to me once in a few years. And it gets very hot, note to self: not to go when it's like 100 degrees and humid outside :). I will probably be back during fall and pumped on benadryl)) if my memory is correct, they used to be on the other side of Lowes parking lot. The entrance is now off 12th street. I parked at Lowes, not sure if its allowed but there was no designated parking as long as I could tell. So go with an open mind and ready to dig and get your hands dirty 😏

Lots of great deals here. Sure you have to not be looking for a specific brand or color but you’re helping to reduce waste!

This was my first time at the store so I took a walk around the whole store. There’s lot of cool stuff. A lot of it has never been used. I picked up 4 plates for $1.50 each. They looked like they have never been used and still had their original manufacture’s price tag ($4.99) on it.

I will definitely be going back to Big Reuse again.

This place is another great resource for people on a budget (or just smart and crafty) who are looking to furnish, or even rehab their home.

I've been using big reuse for years to help furnish my homes, find new projects to rehab and I always come away from here with something interesting, even if it's just a book.

I do miss their other locations in Brooklyn and queens as I feel they had a lot more home renovation materials, but now seem more focused on home furnishing.

Great prices, great staff, always a way to kill time, or check out something different before heading to ikea.

Big Reuse as a diverse selection of almost anything. Clothing, books, appliances, natural edge wood, paint, mirrors, toilets. It’s truly a treat to shop here! Check out some of the unique higher end items online!

good prices, but my god the store is a mess. They need to take care of their space a little and re organize or feng shui or SOMETHING. Had a headache after 20 min of browsing
