What can I say: I love Barry. Even though I live way up here in Jax, I commuted down there for classes once a month. It was worth it to me. I’m in the PhD nursing program and I can say it really changed my life. Dr. Jessie Colin, who is also my chair, is the most intelligent and remarkable person I have ever met. The 5 stars is for her and how she is running the doctoral program. Thank you Dr. Colin! The rest of the nursing faculty are also wonderful. Lovely women (too many to name). I’m so glad I made the decision to come to this school. I’ve learned so much that this post would be too long to describe it all! It’s an intellectually challenging program, so be ready to learn.

This school in general really focuses on social justice. If you are not open minded to multi-culturalism and discovering new ways of thinking outside of the norm, this may not be the school for you. I tell people this because I know how the culture is in America today (ignorance is bliss). You have to accept to live the ‘Barry Life’, which is being open to culture and seeking justice for those whose voices might go unheard.

Like some say on other reviews, yes, the area in which the school is in is kinda sketchy. And be prepared, the student parking is awful. The biggest parking lot is a couple blocks away and you have to take a shuttle to get to the campus. It’s a small campus but quite beautiful.

This school is amazing and not so intense, however it is a very thorough university with its curriculum, and their graduate success rate is very high. I graduated with my bachelor's 2022...now I'm enrolling for the master's program in Aug 2024. I have no doubt I will be in position for another graduation. Go BarryU🎉🎉🎉

The University itself is gorgeous, but the area right next to it is really bad I never felt safe they only have security in the front and occasionally in the back. The Motrom Doss hall rooms smelled like mold and I got charged a lot for unnecessary things. Rude RA’s and staff. The program and schooling was really good as well as the professors. But if you want to go to this school you’re better off living off campus.

It depends on the program. The health sciences are the toughest, but for a reason; nursing students told me they all received a solid education, that gave them a level of education, very much superior to the level of other nursing programs. I hope I will have a similar experience once I finish my program. The campus is absolutely beautiful. Serene and peaceful, great and beautifully restored art deco architecture, surrounded by stunning local vegetation. Some corners of various buildings demonstrate the original campus feel from the days it was built, but restored and updated to the standards of tomorrow. So far, though one of my professors was extremely tough, it has been a wonderful experience.(can not comment on housing; I live off campus)

Daniel at the registrar’s office was arrogant and rude when I tried to get an update regarding my diploma/transcripts. He continued to cut me off and would not allow me to explain myself. Not only that - I was told incorrect information by another employee in regards to when I’ll receive my documents. I took all the proper steps and confirmed with the previous employee on how and when my diploma and transcripts will be processed. Please train your staff on customer service!

Started about a year ago as a full time online student in their “expedited” emergency management program. It’s been a horror. Every semester is a mission to get ahold of an advisor or get anything done. You call the school and the lines are disconnected or nobody answers. Nobody has any idea what is going on. Final straw was last week when I called to speak to an advisor and after 2 hours to get ahold of one they told me they could not help me and referred me to the emergency management supervisor. Turns out that person does not exist and there is no one to contact in regards to anything emergency management related. Needless to say I’ll be transferring. Avoid this place at all costs.

1. You Cannot get anyone on the phone for help.
2. i have been waiting 5month to take my boards due to a mess in the transcripts they never resolved.
3. They charge me an additional 30k in financial aid, this was suppose to be refunded to fedloan but it never did.

my exit experiance with them has been a nightmare.
