Horrible service although they are just a little more polite when your buying metal from them. I have done both buy and sell to them. I took in a whole lot of copper bright shiny and #2 also some Aluminum and I know I had much more than the Scale was reading, The bins were filthy and the guy was rushing through it . A Hispanic Guy that speaks Broken English. Had to ask him to reweigh a bin so I can see what the scale said. Then he scribbles down some numbers on the back of an old receipt and sends me over to a window with bars on it. The lady at the window looks like shes 85 and suffers from the shakes. Reaches over and grabs my ticket and it takes her longer to punch a few numbers into her computer than it did to weigh the stuff. She finally pushes out some money and its only like $5 ! I said whats this ? she said that's all you got
I said wait a minute how many pounds of bright shiny copper did you pay me for ? she looks back at the ticket and says 3 It says 3 here. So I say No No there's some mistake here I had way more than that. So she tells me to go back and ask the guy who weighed it to verify what he wrote.
So I do and he said Oh its suppose to be 30lbs see the 0 here. You could barely make out a 0 after the 3. after all that even though I caught them on that one , I truly believe they still ripped me off at the scale . And their pay out rates are ridiculous This happen a while back from now but I called them today to check their rates. I was still considering going there only because its conveniently close . Until I herd their rate for bright & shiny is $1.60lbs I called Bruce metal in LA they pay $2.10 lbs.
So if you feel like getting ripped off and disrespected Go to ASCO!

Great prices on scrap metal. Good stock. I mostly find what I need for my projects paying a small fraction of the real cost. Don't be afraid of any others low stars reviews. Sometimes you have to wait for help everywhere not just here. But for sure you can find good stuff for your projects.

Not sure why all the bad reviews, sounds like people who really never bought from them or used them. Well I have bought metal from these guys on several occassions and their prices are good and the guys are as nice as you can expect. You are not at a flower shop. They have helped me with a couple of basic cuts, so the tube or square stock will fit in my truck. I would highly recommend them if you need to buy metal stock. Their prices are a fraction of the stuff at home depot. Also they have a great scrap area if you need small pieces. I have not come to them to recycle, but for purchases they are the best around. For the guy who was angry because he had to wait for 15 minutes to recycle, go to ecology, you have to wait 30 minutes when their not on a break? Sometimes I just dont understand people who leave these reviews. they give 1 star and dont have any valuable information.

Had a bunch of scrap metal at home I wanted to get rid of like a stripped down mattresses, DirecTV dish, etc. It was an easy transaction, just had to park and load everything on one of their push carts. Then someone weighs the cart and gives you a ticket. Then you take it to the nice lady at the window and gives you your cash (5 cents per pound). Easy peezy.

Cable Science has been buying from ASCO for years on open account.
I send my guys there to find metal for projects and machines and they tell me that the sale people let them have top quality metal bars sold to us at the cost of metal only. They have given us other parts we need like wheels and brackets at no charge because we are in there often.

Judging from the reports I have been given........This place has GOOD Customer Service! Or else I would have found another supplier years ago. GM Cable Science Inc.

I called to have scrap metal picked up. I talked to the representative over the phone, explained to him what I had to offer, and he rudly replies with "Nope. That's not enough for me to worry about."

I understand my money isn't enough for you, but to reply in such a manner is far below par. There sure is a shortage of friendliness here. And business must be well for them to reject me so proudly.

First impressions (even over the phone) leave a big impression. Even for small potential customers.
