This company is absolutely the worst I've had for utilities in over 50 years. They send a disconnect notice and charge a fee twice in 4 months even though I send a check payment the day I receive the bill. I definitely think they are trying to get us to go to auto pay by letting the payment sit around at their office for several days to a week when USPS said it delivered several days prior to due date. I would love to find more that have this happen to get a class action going

I was originally with Conservice energy but they force switched me to this company. At first it honestly was a nightmare, there was miscommunication where I was told I didn't have to do a single thing and that everything would get switched over. That was a lie, my auto payment was not set up, my fault I should have known better. So I had been missing payments and being charged with disconnection notices. This took about 3 months to resolve, each month I forced them to take off the disconnection notice fee since the website was not saving my information. But now that about 5 months have passed everything has been going smoothly. Last Aug, it was about $100 for 1200kWh on my statement it said I was paying about 11.2 cents per kWh. I was locked in an agreement with Conservice since I had a contract with them so these weren't Ampra's rates. I am about the renew my service with them and they have a contract for 11.10 cents so the bills should be the same. Also we thankfully had power the entire winter last December. Hoping that'll be the case this winter as well. For some reason on my account I can't find what we payed in the winter months but I faintly remember having a payment of $140, I remember that because it was the highest. Overall a decent company, I still don't understand service fees though even after talking to someone about it, they seem ridiculously high - they are half of the bill. I am a college student with 2 roommates so we don't have much experience with energy companies.

Ampra Energy is super pricey. I used to have them and I used to pay almost $200 or more a month no matter the time of year. I was in a single bedroom apartment, by myself, without any animals. I was at work most of the day Mon - Fri. I was supposed to have free nights. I did not. I do not recommend Ampra Energy to anyone. Now living in the same apartment with 2 cats and my boyfriend I pay less than $90 a month with my new energy provider.

Have not been a customer since early June after being forced to change from my previous provider. Almost five months later after my final bill was we paid and account closed they send me a bill for an adjustment from a previous period with a mystery $10 charge on top of that. Horrible business practice and accounting.

Good rates and electric service when compared to other providers in the north Texas region. Really great customer service through and through as well. Every rep I have spoken to has been very helpful and gotten straight to the task at hand - especially the kind woman working 11/17 in the morning through afternoon who helped me with a reimbursement payment. The only complaint I would have is that when you call the phone number that is listed on their communications a pre recorded message gives you an alternative number to call so you can actually get through to someone.

You are better off using some sticks and a magnifying glass for power/light/heat etc.... Horrible and very high rate company. They can not get their billing right and will bill you a few days then next month they will hit you with 2 full months due. This has happened several times. Their mistake has frustrated many and can never seem to get it right. Some people are working multiple jobs to get by and they won't put you as their primary goal for their company, they see the $$$ and is blinded by providing customer service.

Wish I could give 0 stars. If you're considering them willingly.... RUN, dont walk. Their good reviews have to be employees. this place is a joke. I was switched here from Conservice. no notice, no introduction, just you owe us money. im like huh? who are you. I ignored them for the first few months as I was sure it was a scam because let me tell you customer service is so trash I was certain they weren't a real company. there's no way they trained these people. until 3 months went by and they shut my service off, I was then abruptly faced with the unfortunate reality they were most definitely real and this was my new energy provider. they now wanted $800 for 3 months of service..... again HUH?!?! I live in a 2bdrm apt and have never heard of such rates. no plan or no negotiation on the table, back to the same foot we started off on "pay us right now". And that was just the beginning, trust me their tyranny doesn't stop there.

I overpaid on my account and they transferred my service to another company with no warning and refuse to return my overpayment. Whenever I call I go straight to a recording.
I called from a different phone number and got right through. Now the company has blocked that number as well. Please don’t don’t don’t do any business with this company or VOLT. Same people, same theft will occur.
