It’s the second week of September and this is the fourth time the power has gone out at my house. Absolute worst utility company I’ve ever had to deal with. Don’t move to Hazel Green off charity lane if you plan to buy groceries. The power goes out for hours for no reason and your food will spoil. You have been warned.

Yesterday, there was a breeze - power out in NW Madison County. Today, it rained - power out in NW Madison County. On top of the once per month power outages they normally have. The admirable credit rating Huntsville Utilities maintains is a direct result of their low operating costs. They are profitable because they provide an unreliable, third-world grid. Of course, Huntsville Utilities is a monopoly, but I think a serious conversation should be started to restructure, replace, or develop alternatives for Utilities in the Huntsville area. Also, Google Maps should offer negative stars because one is far too generous for Huntsville Utilities.

I know Huntsville Utilities (HU) isn’t always a popular or well liked company, but I had a really good experience today that I wanted to share!
I was attempting to help a friend pay her bill via a nearby kiosk, but I just wasn’t having any success (and I didn’t think it was me!)
I called HU and I was able to speak with Brittney (sp?)! She was professional, patient and a sweetheart! (It didn’t hurt that she laughed at my pathetic jokes! ☺️)
She made my day and I think I may have made hers!
