TERRIBLE cust svc from these two women here! I’ve been here a few times. There’s an older woman and a young man who are very pleasant. The women here today? Absolutely not! I bought a nail drimmel THIS MORNING from the older woman. Pleasant no complaints. I didn’t get a receipt but I wasn’t concerned. I got to work and my OA brought hers so I didn’t need it. I’m back here on my lunch to return it or exchange if that’s policy, I know how things are). I told the lady the story and if I could replace it w something I see since I don’t have my receipt. She said no we’re taking anything back wo the receipt. I said ok what about swap it out. She repeated that same line 4x! No other words. So I pulled up my bank receipt from this morning and showed her. She repeated herself again and told the other cashier “come over here away from her” like what?!? I just stood there like I know for a fact maybe not return n that’s fine but I JUST BOUGHT THIS AND MY BANK RECEIPT SHOWS IT FOR THIS LOCATION AT 9:06 today! It was so frustrating. And her repeating herself w no other words 5-6 times!?! Why? So, venting. We own the largest hvac company in Alabama. I’ll be sure to spread the word that Walmart will be our preferred stop for quick pick ups even though y’all are closer. Terrible all bc of the girl’s attitude. This is a business. Putting the wrong people at the front of the store will ruin a LOT of business. Trust me.

Family dollar was great I got in and out I always have to have a conversation with the ladies we laugh and talk about their families and what we're doing the week end. I told them my birthday is Monday I got a lot of greeting in case they didn't see me. I Love them all great place to visit.

Going to this location is a hit or miss. Sometimes you get good customer service, other times you're asking yourself why in the world you stopped at this location. Last night was my final visit. They are supposed to close at 10pm, and I arrived at 847pm. There was a male worker at the door refusing to let people in. He literally stuck his head out of the door, shooed us away as if we were swarming flies, then proceeded to lock the door with no explanation as to why they were (I assume) closing early. Thankfully there is another FD a little bit further up the road. Better location, better inventory, better staff. I will shop at that location in the future. The Bankhead Highway location is complete garbage. I would advise people not to bother shopping here unless it is a matter of complete desperation.

I absolutely hate this location! If it wasn't literally 2 minutes from my house (and 10 minutes to the next closest), I would never set foot into it again! There are usually 2-3 employees stocking shelves, but somehow, they never have anything I need in stock! Then today, my total was $7 more than I had on my card, so I used what I did have on my card, then gave the cashier $7 in quarters to pay the remaining balance. I was then told by the manager standing nearby that next time I would need to have the change rolled up or they wouldn't be able to take it as payment. I am just blown away by the attitude and flat out of rudeness of this MANAGER! I'm spending $60+ in the store, but am told they are not supposed to take $7 in quarters as payment I didn't even have $10 worth of quarters to make a roll, nor do I have paper quarter rolls at my house! I'm so over this store!

Cashier doesn’t know what she’s doing nor can she read I get a box of trash bags that’s clearly $4.95 I get to the register and they ring up $7 and change I go back to the back and take a picture to verify I had the correct box size and quantity this girl says they’re ringing up at that price and she can’t do nothing about it family dollar needs to retrain their employees!!!

Customer service is horrible. I brought some shoes back that were broken that I had just purchased at a different family Dollar. Soon as I walked in asking for a refund with tags and it receipt in hand I was greeted with an attitude and told to wait up front. As she was getting her manager I proceed to look for another pair of shoes and was yelled at and told to just wait. I still went to find shoes regardless and was met by the associate who said no return and stood over me still saying no refund. I told her I was going to buy more shoes and asked her to get from over me. From there an argument started with the associate throwing her hands up yelling with an attitude. She proceeds to tell her managers name while still standing over me. Her manager came and told her the front line was bagged up then she left.

9.25.16 UPDATE: Seems they need a better hiring screening process. Brand new employee bragging on not needing her job at family dollar so she feels it's ok to treat customers with attitude and lies. I came in receipt in hand for a tobacco exchange and was quite rudely told they don't take back cigarettes. Excuse me maam, but since you weren't listening to my husband the first time he asked you for them, I had to come BACK to exchange them which is a HUGE inconvenience to me... Not a problem. Clearly family dollar does not want my family's money. I'm done. Final review, shop locally small owned/family owned and leave the big time box stores alone. I REFUSE to PAY someone to treat me badly.

First of all DISORGANIZED is a nice word. Not only is the store dysfunctional, the management staff seems fine working in this type of environment. I need to stress that I have NO qualms wroth the regular associates, it's the manager, and her lil black haired cohort. They seem to have PLENTY of time to talk smack about their customers, but don't have time to actually HELP their customers. I visited on a random weekday around noon. WHY is there no one at either register to greet me or assist me? I'll tell you why, because the manager wants the one or two good associates she has to bust they butts while she floats around like a too pretty butterfly. If you're above this job, I suggest you find another one. When I visit I expect a clean well organized and efficient place of business. Instead I find an old lady gossip house with a management staff too busy or their horse is too high to assist the people actually writing her checks. All I can say is I will ONLY visit when I think her name is Balti, and the other young african American lady with glasses is there to actually work. There is NO excuse for how that place is run. Smdh.
