Worst power company I’ve ever dealt with! Customer service rep & the supervisor over customer service are very rude, judgmental & careless for others! Will cut your power off on day 30 (no grace) of no payments received & not willing to help or notify by phone. They will just leave a notice in late afternoon to have it paid by 9am next business day. Thanks for the short notice!

Caitlin thank you for informing me how no one has complained of how the online system is not user friendly and clearly not allowing me since December to update my new card. This is me informing Riviera Utilities how your online system is poorly operated. I have made an effort every month to update my card and see to that my bill was paid and every month my bill is late. Even when I request emails for a missed bill the system is set up to inform you 2 weeks after the fact. This is now including a late fee. Caitlin I hope you have a wonderful day and maybe your manager can read this and respond with a better way to improve the system than you what you were not able to assist with.

Beware that if/when their equipment, the meter, breaks or doesn't read as high as they want it to they will replace it and not inform you of the issue nor will they inform you that your bill will be off. They will not be able to give you an accurate reading for the billing time the meter was not working but will pull a number out of the sky to bill you for and add it to your current billing at about 2.5 times as much as your average bill and then offer you an extra week to pay it despite it being their equipment and communication failure. We were warned of their dishonorable and shady practices when we moved to the area and now we know that what we were told is fact.

Horribly rude people. Swindlers...also..if you set up a pay date...it should not go through at midnight the second the date starts..at least have the pay ment run at 8 am or maybe after the time banks are open..this is part of the swindle though..there is a chance that hard working people( not degenerates that aren't just trying to get out of paying their bill)...have to stretch and plan what day what bill can be paid.or when they will make said money to cover said bill...they bank on the fact it will be declined...you get that declined payment fee...you get the late fee...and bam when you are at work and kids at school they get to come home to no electric and you get to pay 60 more dollars to have them press a second button ( the first one was to turn it off)...and hope that electric comes back on for your children. Oh and don't even try to ask for as little as one extra day...The uncompassionate perfect woman that man the customer service lines will tell you no no matter what. And will stop at nothing to allow you to speak to a supervisor. Never been more dissatisfied with a company that I have no other options to use. Only thing we are happy with is internet.. only gave 1 star bc I had to to post..would've given negative if possible

I really miss Alabama Power. They had clear rules for disconnection. Life happens, and sometimes people get behind. I don’t fault the workers for doing what they’re told but goodness gracious. I received ZERO notice my power was going to be cut off. In the middle of getting ready for work around 9am, there go the lights. Imagine if I wasn’t home in the middle of summer and all the food in my fridge expired. I called, confused, because I have gotten a notice or two before and didn’t get one this time. The lady said the notices are a “courtesy”. Excuse me? I will admit the bill says service can be cut off any time for nonpayment, but that’s ridiculous. Alabama Power has clear terms for their cut off. Riviera does not. I promptly paid it because who can go without power in this heat, really… but the no rhyme or reason or ability to work with customers who continually pay for a service month after month is bad business. Sorry to whomever I talked to this morning when I hung up on you after you told me how much I need to pay to get reconnected… I’d hate my job too if I were you. I’d give it zero stars if I could. Wish I could choose to have a different company. But that’s not an option.

Used as our residential electric service provider. We've had no major complaints/issues over the past 12 years. We do *not* use auto bill pay. I self-pay online (on time) every month. The website payment feature is simple to navigate & convenient. Everything with service seems adequately normal to me. We pay them and they provide service. If we don't pay (and also don't bother reaching out to them about past due amount) they end service. This is how it works in the the world of adults & bills.
