It was raining when we visited in early September but it was cool to see the glacier and the waterfall. There are different trails you can take and the visitor center staffs are informative and friendly. We only saw eagles but heard from one of the staffs that there are bears there. Would recommend if you’re in Juneau.

Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls are absolutely worth the visit. The glacier’s icy blue colors are stunning, and the short, easy hike to Nugget Falls gives you amazing views of both the waterfall and the glacier. It’s a beautiful spot you don’t want to miss!

Magnificent Glacier in Juneau. When you visit Juneau this is a place you must not miss. We chose to take the city bus which is the cheapest means to go there. However, you must be prepared to walk 30-45 mins to reach the visitor Center and do hike to go near the Glacier. Well the journey is worthwhile, along the way up to the destination the view is also splendid and we enjoy it very much. A binoculars is good to have to take a closer look at the glacier. It’s so beautiful with it blue structure. The path to the photo point also an easy flat path. Don’t miss this pace and Nugget Fall too.

Impressive glacier and easy to access. Pathed all the way to the first lookout and almost all the way to the adjacent waterfall. Don’t forget to look at the little stuff on the way to the big stuff! Buses cost $80 per person from the cruise ship docks. Ride share cost us $45 (including tip) and they drop you off less than 5 mins from the visitor center and start of the pathed trails.

We walked the trail to Nugget Falls, a beautiful falls emptying into the glacial lake. A walk in the lake was a chilly experience!

Incredible display of nature. The glacier was incredible, not to mention the waterfall. Not terribly difficult to hike, could have stayed much longer.

This was real neat to see an actual glacier but I wish we could have walked on it and explored it more like the excursion said we were going to. There was also a beautiful waterfall near it. The whole area is peaceful and gorgeous. Unfortunately, it was lightly raining the day we came but we did see a bald eagle in the distance walking on the ground then he/she flew off with it's mate. Even from a distance the bald eagle was huge!

From the cruise port, I took a Lyft to the visitor center and took the hike to the waterfall and around the lake. I could see the glacier. I was supposed to go on the canoe trip to the glacier, but it got cancelled. This was also worth it and cheaper (free haha)
