Because I have not paid for electric in my name in the past, I am required to pay double the average monthly electric cost + the start up fees, and the first month of rent. I will be paying almost $800 for my first month with them. Despite being military with promised, consistent pay, the down payment is still not waived. Such a scam!

Monopolized service where you pay what they say or do without. If I could give less than one star I would. If only the frequent service disruptions and black outs were the only problem maybe there would be some redeeming factors of the company. But when you add notices of past due bills when everything has been paid and often times the cents have been rounded up to the next dollar the previous month. Yet never seen a credit in the over paid amount, just that the bill is always over due.

Literally got a bill yesterday that was a past due notice for the next month... Again, in case you thought that was a misprint, I received a past due notice for the next month, as in the future. Unfortunately unless you want to go entirely off the grid you have to use their service.

I encourage all persons who use their service to check your meters yourself as well being that they like to just estimate what you use and not actually check your meters. I have been billed for usage when they had disconnected the power at the pole while I was working on my residence. They said that they often estimate expected use and bill accordingly, their words not mine.

I guess they might have missed the ethics portion of doing business. Although it doesn't matter when you are the only provider in the area, guess you just gotta do what they say and that is how it is.

Been paying the bills on time, the checks are being cashed the day after the due date and late fees added, consistently. When mailed (15 days before the due date), the check is mailed at the same time as the other utilities are mailed and those checks get cashed right away, but this company waits weeks to cash. Called to discuss was told oh well we have to receive the checks before the due date and I have to keep paying the late fees.

I am a single person who works a job that keeps me out of town for half the year. My electric bills are averaging over $150 a month even though I'M NOT EVEN IN MY HOME 50% OF THE YEAR. Everything gets shut off except the toyo (set at 50 degrees) and my refrigerator when I leave. When I am home, outages lasting 10+ hours occur almost weekly. What an absolute disaster of a company and an insult to the residents of Alaska.

The power outages are no fun but thank you so much to the staff and crews going out in the dark, the cold, the snow and the wind to get it back on as quickly as safely possible. You are all awesome.

RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!! There's NO WAY our bill should be 400 something dollars and we've only been here for two months. It shot up from $200+ to almost $300 for the first month, to $400+ almost $500 the second month. And the lady over the phone "projected" that the bill next month, will be higher. HOW HOW DO YOU KNOW You have to read the damn meter FIRST. Who told you we'd even be home for the month? Maybe we have training to go to for the next month and everything will be off, so it seems to me, that these "projected prices" are a damn rip off and they will be reported!!!

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. If there were other options, I would go with anyone else. Monopolizing a market should not be legal.
