I've been with them 5 years and never had an issue. I think power has gone out twice? Maybe 3 times. Paying my bill online is easy. I have no idea why there are so many (mostly tenants) complaining.

I was behind on my bill which I understand was 100% my fault, however the resources avaliable to me to check my bill/service (the ios app, online service & the bills that are sent to me) make no mention of delinquency or disconnection. Yesterday I come home, mind you I dont get off work until 5pm (same time chugach closes) to find I have No service. There was no Tag on my door/no indication of service disconnection. Since chugach is closed, I had no option but to contact the afterhours line in which I was then notified of my diconnection. I paid my FULL bill online & was directed to call back & they could reinstate my service but with a $50 afterhours charge, the only way around that would have been to have no service until I could call customer service in the am. I chose to reinstate my service & would take up the fee with CS in the morning. Today I called & explained how none of the avenues avaliable to customers shows the delinquency or jepordy of disconnection so I felt at minimum since I did also pay in full, is to have my $50 afterhours fee waived. I spoke to a CSR named Kate, whom instead of being helpful immediately got defensive with me & gave significant attitude, so I asked for her Supervisor. I was then transfered to a lead by the name of Maurine, she was pleasent but again not helpful & just kept repeating over & over their process & how they dont notify of delinquency or disconnect on any of their platforms since their delinquency process is completely seperate from their billing. At this point I just wanted the afterhours charge waived & to be done. Maurine had no ability to do this, so she transfered me to another lead by the name of Darlene. Again Darlene was not helpful & advised me that even though their platforms avaliable to the customer to check bills etc. dont show a disconnect, I should just know since I was behind. She checked with someone above her about waiving my afterhours fee & advised me no one would waive it & it is what it is. Keep in mine throughout this entire 33min call, I asked for a supervisor 3 times, not once was I given one as I only spoke to a CSR & 2 leads… If there was another electric service for Anchorage I would be switching in a heart beat! This is & was absolutely ridiculous & I am embarrassed to have these people/company servicing our town.

Always polite and fast service. I come monthly and its always easy paying my bill. They are always helpful and knowledgeable. I will continue to do business with them.

You all need to make your pay by phone easier… who just happens to have or know by heart two 9 digit numbers to even be able to pay the bill… then there no receipt except a confirmation number…. Would your accounted except a confirmation number as proof of payment…no they wouldn’t… it’s the 21 century… you all can look up my account by for a power outage you can do it so we can see at our bills too and have set up so after some pays you email them a receipt…

Extra star for providing our power...even though it all too often goes out. Work had to be done on a transformer pad just out back within view of our condo. First in 2019, and while in the process, 3 tall trees were killed. The trees still stand today dead on the bottom, with 2 still struggling to survive on top. Chugach Electric's recent blunder happened just yesterday when they had to come out yet once again to work on the same transformer pad. Apparently, instead of taking the marked, paved entrance to the park, their mini excavator was taken across the grass thereby severely damaging it. As members of the board, we now have to pursue a case in order to get Chugach to cover the cost of having the lawn repaired. Way to go Chugach. Hey, at least they posted a warning on our door regarding the power outage that would have to take place in order to work on the transformer pad. Unfortunately, the power went out one hour before the time listed. Pitiful customer service.

I was illegally locked out my apartment , customer service told me I could t turn my electric off , they allowed the tenants who landlord moved in to keep electricity under my name and now I’m being told I owe $694 for a apartment with no workiing utilities and a slumlord who owes almost 60,000 in electric bills ! Fraud has taken over ,and tenants homeless issue is due to lack of holding these scam artist identity thief’s we call landlords into the untouchable bully !

ever since switching systems for the phone payment, it's been harder and harder to get the bill paid. every single time i have called to talk to a service rep, they've been flippant and dismissive of the issue with payment. what is the point of having a customer service number if all they'll do is transfer back to the automated system and hangup?
website is extremely faulty.
the replies to these reviews are also? not great "we know the app doesn't work. we know our reps aren't helpful" cool. do better then. you provide a necessary service to people who have no choice but work through you, the least you can do is supply the service. be so ffr

Keeps messing up my electric bill (for years actually ) sending me delinquent notice is when I’ve already paid and mixing up my two accounts (house, and a business). Just got off the phone with an extremely rude “floor manager“ who doesn’t actually know what’s going on. now they’ve added a $325. Deposit to my bill for no reason. I have been a client for 26 years. They have a monopoly on the town so it must be paid. (I’m not doing it). And don’t even think about using auto pay, the phone, or any website or app to pay your bill because it will never get documented and then you’ll have a delinquent notice along with another large fee. The fact that their Google reviews says they have 1.8 stars says everything. Considering a generator to run my business and house just to not deal with chuhach electric Anymore. If I could give a -5 stars, I would do it. PLEASE send me another Chugach electric voting notice, I would LOVE to vote you out instead of making compost out of your junk mail.
