Bunch of crooks. I hate how they have a monopoly around the city and I can’t get water elsewhere. Can’t take any card payments in office so they tell you to do it all online. My autopay was turned off since December and they never gave me any kind of call or email saying that they haven’t received a payment. Only way I found out was after my water was cut off and they made me pay almost $200 total to get it turned back on. When I asked why I never received any notification the customer service rep told me that it is a courtesy and they aren’t required to notify me. They are a joke and their customer service is terrible.

The employees that answer the phone are extremely rude and will undoubtedly hang up on you intentionally.

Furthermore they are completely unhelpful and for the most part unwilling and unable to help you, or even treat you as a customer. Instead they think of themselves as an authority.

The employees refuse to accept your customer payment and refuse to help you make a payment.

They expect you to memorize their own internal company info regarding your account details such as a random string of numbers rather than look it up themselves.

The employees lack knowledge about their own company and will often tell you false info and connect you to the wrong phone number.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Every dealing I have had with Anniston water works has left me angry. If they did not hold a monopoly on running water, they would not receive a single penny from me. They somehow manage to deny my automatic payments and charge me late fees at least once a year without notice. It is my feeling it's time to flush the toilet on management.

I've never had an issue with rude customer service. When I moved from Ga to Al, they were very helpful in informing me of a needed inspection and got it done quickly. I don't know what smoke detectors has to do with getting your water turned on but ‍♀️. I just wish their website would work more than 2-3 days a month lol. I do online bill paying and it makes it quiet difficult if the website is always down. Like now, I need my most recent bill for a program I've been waiting to get approved for 3 months but I can't get on the website as it's still down and I never get a bill mailed to me so now I have to hope the office is open on President's Day so that I can get a copy of the bill to the program. Please try to fix whatever issues is occurring with your website. It makes things very difficult for us online bill payers. Other than that, maybe the reconnect fee Ive read about is a bit ridiculous, but AWW seems to be very helpful, informed and great customer service in my experience.

I'm reading some of these reviews and finding it funny. The women in that office operate a utility company. The entire population of the city calls or comes in to pay or do business. They don't have the time to sit and talk to you about your daughters beauty pageant or why this lady shouldn't have to pay her bill. It's not personal. If you use it, you need to pay for it. Your condition of health (some cases it's your own fault) doesnt earn you a free pass. Seeing a lot of Entitlement in the reviews and I just hope mine makes it through. They have always been kind to me, expeditious, and helpful. They've never charged us more than we owed, and we don't complain about our consumption! Be a citizen, not a scab!

The Anniston Water Works and Sewer board is a big crooked corporation. A shame. I understand how people can get so caught up with their obligations they can forget at least one of their bills some months. Anything can happen. What about the disabled? The elderly? I get that. Why don't they? I just went in and paid a bill for someone that had gotten disconnected. Their bill was past due and had doubled. With the past due balances and late fees they tacked on the bill skyrocketed to $118. Then to get it reconnected they charged her $85 and to reconnect the same day they added another $45 to the bill. I will assure her that her bill will never be disconnected again because $246 for water is outrageous! Where does the additional $85 and $45 go? And when I paid the money the rude customer service agent took the money from me as if it were money someone owed her personally. She was incredibly rude and finished texting before acknowledging me. Rude!!! Shame on this company. Pay your bill with them and pay it in advance or deal with losing more money you may need for something else. Crooks!

Their bills are mailed out AFTER the due date! They seemingly can't automatically draft any bank account or credit/debit card on a recurring basis. Moved here from NC in 2022. My son helped with a vegetable garden and raised bed berries...my water bill was in excess of $200/month for Four Months until I 'killed' the garden plan. I guess this is my "New Normal"; shame!
