Bradford (Warrior Lodge) is and has been at the top of their game for a long time.What makes it so special is the vast majority of the employees that you end up spending time with practice a spiritual program. When you end up in a place like Bradford it's not cause your life was just peachy, you feel empty and the prospect of changing everything about your life seems almost too tall of a task and you question it like is this really the path for me? But you have the privilege and luxury of seeing employees with years clean and sober, they're glowing, and theres the example right there in your face, You see firsthand that this task is one that's worth your effort and tenacity. Bradford in Warrior is a special place, I wouldn't be alive if it didn't exist.

I had a positive experience in the cottages but I wouldn’t send a loved one there bc the one on one time in non/existant amd the goal of the facility is to get as many people in and out as quickly as possible to generate as much revenue as possible. The people at the top don’t care about the sobriety of the patients. The counselors and therapists do but their hog tied and aren’t available enough to get to see alot of their clients, me being one, bc they are overworked.. Everyone I talked to got their relapse prevention plan but never saw that person again. It’s sad bc at one point Bradford was at the top of their game. Another thing, with all the money going into Bradford they can’t buy new couches they are ripped so bad you couldn’t give them to Salvation Army bc they are Junk. Where is the money going. We’re not saying completely remodel the cottages just put names couches in the living rooms. But that would cut into the greedy holding companies profits. And Bradford is a business 1st and foremost and if they can help some great if not they will be back spending more money. There is no incentive to get people sober in 1st or 2nd trip, also having majority of the staff being there for less that a year means you have people woefully inept to handle most situations. It’s sad what this place has become and I don’t see it getting better n4 it gets worse.

I transferred to Warrior from their Madison location two days into a 30 day stay for mostly opioid addiction. I take 3 meds for my blood pressure and a blood thinner for a stent in my heart due to a heart attack and have a few health issues but the BP is a problem if I go off my meds. I spent three days at Warrior suffering the worst withdrawals imaginable, I didn’t know they could be that horrendous. They expected me to get out of bed at 5:30 am to go stand in line to have my vitals read and my meds dispensed while experiencing violent vomiting. These lines normally ran for 1 1/2 to 2 hours long. 3 times a day. They never gave me my BP meds a single time during my 3 day stay and my BP was in high stroke range every time they would check it. It was so high that they would check it 3 and 4 times in a row not believing I could be sitting there alive with those numbers. They still didn’t give me my prescribed BP meds and they had them there and I kept asking for them because I knew how dangerous of a game they were playing with my health but still no meds. I got the meds they thought I needed which was phenobarbital and some vitamins but not once did I receive my BP meds. I didn’t eat for 3 days and barely drank anything either. They left me in a room with another resident without my meds and without food or water for 3 days until I could no longer stand or walk or verbally communicate. They finally called an ambulance and they took me to UAB hospital and I was properly cared for and discharged after a 2 day stay. How I didn’t have a stroke or another heart attack while in Bradfords care I’ll never know but I do know that it was the most traumatic experience of my life by far and I’ve experienced some trauma in my life. I’ll likely suffer PTSD from this botched detox for the rest of my days. I just wanted to stop using drugs and this is what I got. They had never heard of the opiate I was on but I explained that it was 50 times stronger than fentanyl over and over and that I’d been on it for months and my withdrawals were really on a next level but I got nothing other than some nausea medicine and phenobarbital and vitamins. I got vitamins for what should’ve been a hospitalized detox from the beginning. That was my mistake for not realizing just how bad withdrawals can be and thinking that Bradford could manage them successfully for me. When they didn’t recognize the drug I was detoxing from they should have refused to treat me but they didn’t. When they saw the hell I was going through and my BP numbers they should’ve called an ambulance but they waited till I went unresponsive to do that. Shame on you people for what you let me suffer through and I guarantee the staff reading this remember me. Why did y’all do this to me? I was polite and respectful even as I was suffering terribly and I just wanted to stop taking drugs and start feeling better and I got that kind of treatment. As I’m typing this I have tears running down my face remembering my experience there. I’m 11 days clean today and I can do it without any rehab. Oh hell no I’ll never go to another rehab. There’s worse things than an overdose death but it shouldn’t be a rehab. This is all 100 percent accurate and absolutely true and the people there know it. Thanks for the help with my addiction.

My wife went to Bradford and the family had to attend a 3 day class on how to help the loved one when they got home. First the person giving the class said he was in recovery and most of the staff are in recovery. He stood up there and told us all in the class, it was our fault that our loved ones were in treatment. Fine... But when my wife got home...her favorite phrase was it's not her fault if she slips up and lies about it. And I don't support her. That is what they brainwash into their heads...they they can't help it. Fine...then they sent us a bill and we are double covered with great health insurance. The business office argued with me and I had to get the insurance representative on the phone and she set them straight and they billed the secondary and got paid. They had everything on file about our insurance policies. Ok now...the second time she had to go back...the exact same thing except the family didn't have to attend the 3 day class. Ok...the exact same thing with the bill. Same result. Ok...now the 3rd and 4th time the exact same thing. Except after the 3rd time the counselor talked her into leaving me...convinced her she needed to get sober on her on. That was after 20 years of us being married and have 2 kids. We had a great marriage except she couldn't kick the alcoholism. Of course that didn't work she ended up almost dying on her own and ended back the 4th time. I just found out she got a big bill after the 3rd time and had be threatened that they are going to send it to collection's. She is still double covered. They are just playing games with her. Worst place ever to send a loved one. She only went back the other times,because they teach them that addiction is not their fault and they just can't help lying. They make them think it's the families fault. And they want them to come back over and over again. It's a business.

Warrior Lodge Bradford was a beautiful place to go in my time of chaos and insanity. They have a very caring and well trained detox staff. They also had a great group of counselors. They curriculum kept me focused in my most vulnerable confusing time. I really appreciate the level of care they go above and beyond to provide.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Sadly I have a few comparisons I can make with other establishments. I feel the staff legitimately care and not once did it feel like anyone was just going through the motions. Just care enough about yourself and those that need you to find the strength you feel you lost and grab that pillar of determination. You can make it be the core of self esteem you never had.

My experience at the Warrior lodge was phenomenal! I met a lot of great people, within the staff, and the guys I lived with in The Deuce (cottage 2) ! I was given all the the tools I need to make a successful recovery. If you ever need the help or even think you might need help, DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL THE WARRIOR LODGE! Everyone in the facility wants what is best for you now and in the future and will treat you like family!
