Today I came in and had services turned on and was helped by a sweet lady Named Stacy. It has been expensive to move from VA side to TN. As a single mother of two who works full time and still struggles this woman is truly an angel . She was so easy to work with and made the process easy. We both talked about our life and our children. She could tell I was stressed out and she felt called to give me a bracelet with many colors but a cross in the middle. She told me the meaning behind it and it brought me to tears. She was amazing at providing service and just being a heartfelt person. She’s truly an angel.

It's so sad to see all these people with negative experiences with this company! My problem is that I have lived in the same place for almost 19 years. I've had my central heat and air unit replaced, but not through them, thank goodness. Back in January, my electric bill went up because of my water heater, which was put in back in 1996 with their old ass box that was also from 1996. I decided to go in person one day (with a witness) to see if they actually tell the truth about what was going on, and they did not. The lady was explaining to me about my heat and air, drafts, and all that. When I told them about my water heater, I had to call numerous times, get my landlord to sign a paper stating she allowed them to be on property to do fiber optic, which is most definitely not required, but you have to have that in order to use the water heater program, because the lady told me that they needed to get their money for helping people with water heaters. That's not helping if you have to make people get something that is not required in the first place. I had to pay out of pocket for a water heater, and had that box put back on the water heater, which caused wires to smoke. That box, their equipment, to almost catch my home on fire because they neglected to take any accountability of the fact that their equipment was so outdated! Which almost cause the replacement water heater to catch fire. They did not want to be held accountable for their equipment whatsoever, and wanted to explain about something that wasn't the issue. With all these negative reviews, you'd think they would take some sort of action to improve their services, because too many people are being ripped off because they want to lie and charge for everything. Yes, I know electric ain't free, but at least have more of a heart instead of dollar signs. My home almost caught on fire because of their negligence of their equipment!!!!!

I have been dealing an absolutely inept customer service manager. I have been given the run around for three months. First major issues with my billing from phantom draw from a cut buried line. I was told they would send out an energy advisor, which was a glorified hvac tech that had no idea how anything is metered. He told me he would send someone else out to check the meter which never happened. I have all the texts and his card to prove this. I told the customer service manger beforehand that i dont use electric heatpump at all. And an hvac tech was still what she sent. I finally found the issue with no help from your company at all a nicked buried line that was bleeding energy into the ground. Your "energy advisor" never even opened or looked at the electrical panel, and promised to send out another tech to do that. I never heard another word from anyone. I came in today to try and work a payment plan was told no there was nothing they could do that I had to pay today or it will be shut off. I left straight from the office borrowed the money and payed the bill. It was less then 10 minutes difference from the time I payed the bill to when the power was shut off. The customer service manager Dianne is completely incompetent with her job. She has no idea how the power is even metered and knows nothing more then what is on her screen. She has been completely useless in trying to help resolve the issues at hand. Now I'm being told it's another hundred dollars to turn the power back on after I already paid the bill. If it was just gonna be shut off why was I not told that or the fees already incurred when I paid the bill. Literally less than an hour from when I came in and talked to your representative and came back and paid the bill was the power shut off and asked for another 100 dollars to turn it back on this is completely unacceptable. I have asked for contact information for their supervisor and could not get even an email and constantly told just call the main number. It took 30 minutes of complaining until I could even get a name and then told that she wouldn't even be in office for a week. I have been given the run around for months with absolutely no help at all.

No problems with customer service, electric service or water heater plan.

CHECK YOUR BILL. We are going to cancel because our bundle went from 135.00 to 210.00 in a short time for 100MB, standard definition cable, phone. Two stars for this. We had no idea. Internet is better lately but dropped frequently at random during the day. There are cheaper and better options available.

Just forget about it. I'm employed by a huge tech firm and they refused to admit for weeks they have issues. Finally a rep admitted they couldn't get funding to make the service live up to the advertised speed, much less even 10 percent of them. This service is becoming more horrible with the automated phone system. Go with spectrum. They suck too. But better than this.

I really don’t get all these poor reviews of BTES. They are reliable, affordable, and fast! Our power went out last night and they had it restored in under an hour! And it was super easy to report the outrage using their automated system. PLUS they actually LOWERED the cost of our 1 gbt internet last year!!! What a nice, welcome surprise! Most companies these days reserve their best prices for new customers. And I cannot say enough good things about their fast response after we lost power during Helene. Just a fabulous experience! Thank you, BTES for all you do!!! D. Clark, Bristol, TN

Worst service provider there is. I just had a baby last month so wife is out of work and my bill went past due, also my normal bill is around $200. This month it was $500 in the dead of winter with a newborn and I’m going to be disconnected tomorrow if I don’t come up with another $200. I asked for a 2 day extension and they said there is nothing they can do and wouldn’t give me 2 DAYS so I can get paid and pay the full amount. I even offered to pay $300 today and then in two days pay the remaining $200. Horrible company. Extremely high cost for services which you have zero option to pay because they are the only option. Garbage internet and policies that make it impossible for their very pleasant staff to help in anyway whatsoever. I’ve lived in 5 different states and this is the worst service provider I’ve ever encountered across the country.

Thanks for the power; however, both the Atmos Energy and City of Bristol billing notifications I receive via Email include the amount due in the body of the Email (see attachments). Your notifications require that I click on a link that takes me to a page that prompts for my account# and password that I have to look up in my notes. It would be helpful that you follow their lead.
