You would think during hard times your water wouldn’t be shut off for being few weeks late. The electric company at least gives more time, actually call to remind and help if needed. Not Smyrna water! They want that money as soon as possible and then stick you with an insane fine! I wasn’t able to pay it before but come on that’s a hefty fee to turn water back on. It’s my fault I’m late. But dang they give no compassion or help at all!!!

Spoke to someone in utilities about this month's water bill being higher than average. It turns out a defective stopper in the toilet water tank (repaired prior to going to Smyrna Utilities) was at fault.
The person who assisted me was pleasantly professional and had my bill lowered to reflect that the probable problem had been repaired.

Derrick Frances came out today to turn our gas on. He was very professional and answered all our questions!! Smyrna Utilities is fortunate to have him as an employee representing Smyrna! Absolute pleasure to meet him!!

Absolutely ridiculous. I went to city hall to have a new gas service installed at my home. While I was there I was going to have automatic payment setup. They said that would require a voided check. Well it's the 21st century and not only do I not have checks I have never even written a check. When handed the paper work I then realized they only needed my account and routing number. I told them I had that information. They would not except this and would require a letter head from the bank with this information. I was aggrivated but agreed. I was then instructed to go to the cashier to check out. I handed the cashier my card and then was informed I was going to be charged nearly $10 to use my card. Needless to say the Town of Smyrna did not get my business.

I have been living in my same apartment for over 2 years. I called the water company and asked why I had not received a bill for the month if August. The lady on the phone stated that they sent the the bill out to my address and that maybe the mailman put the bill in the wrong box. I stated to the lady that I have had the same mailman since I have moved to Smyrna so I dnt think that he would put my water bill in the wrong box. So now my bill is late, added on top of it all they are charging a late for of 10% on to my bill. I have never not gotten a bill and is funny that all of a sudden for the month of august my bill is missing!

Had to go out of town and attempted to pay my bill on line as to not be late. I was extremely shocked to see that a fee would be charged if I paid on-line or called in a credit card. Either way I would be charged a fee. That is so ridiculous. This is modern day and with all the technology available you are not even set up to receive EFT payments directly from my bank account. Get with program and move into the modern age of technology and quite charging for every little bit of service. Some individuals can barely pay their bills and don't need the additional fees you are tacking on!!!!!

Setting up utilities was one of the first things I did when I moved to the area - and based on previous experiences in other towns, I was kind of dreading it. I cannot tell you how friendly and professional they were - I left there thinking "Wow, that was actually great!" To this day, these folks do a fantastic job.
