Our whole process, from estimate to installation, was professional and smooth. Everyone we dealt with was responsive and professional and we highly recommend Solar Energy Services. They were able to send a drone to assess our property to determine the best setup for our solar panels. The process was clearly explained to us, including installation process, tax credits, solar energy credits, and break even time. Everyone who installed and came to trouble shoot was professional. We were also pleasantly surprised at how affordable having the panels installed was, after credits. I have had friends use SES as well and they have been very pleased.

SES installed a system on our house December 2022, so we've had it up and running for 7+ months now. We're very happy with it and were impressed with the quality of people , equipment and follow-through at SES.

Our story: I had been interested in solar for awhile and had recently purchased a house. Another solar company was going door to door, so we got a quote from them. The ins and outs of solar quotes are a little complicated, with variables in pricing based on equipment type, if you're financing or buying outright or renting the system etc. So, while that quote was a helpful baseline, I knew I wanted to compare a bit. A friend - who had a system installed on her house - recommended Solar Energy Services. I called them and Seth dropped by the next morning I believe. Very informative, knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. Compared quotes, systems, make of equipment as well as variables between financing, buying outright, renting and owning. Again, hard to get a straight across the board apples to apples comparison, but I was pretty well convinced SES was the way to go - based both on price and their track record, Seth's knowledge and my friends recommendation. I also researched the panels and inverter they were going to install - liked the fact that the panels made in North America and SolarEdge (inverter) also checked out as top-notch.

We hustled on installation as we had decided to buy outright (best deal, most savings long-term) and needed to get it done in 2022 so we could get the tax credit in April of 2023. One tricky wrinkle was our roof, which was just old enough that it didn't make sense to me to put a system on it that I would then have to remove in 10 years or so to put a new roof on at a cost of roughly $8K. So, decided to replace the roof before installation. Went with Marasun roofing - another Seth recommendation - and they were top-notch as well.

New roof, then solar installation. Crew was very good, very professional. Got everything sorted and inspected and officially installed for tax purposes and turned system on I believe very early January 2023. So, our monthly electric bill - which used to range from $150-$300+ is now $9 ... production has outpaced consumption for every month except for Jan/Feb and July so far. I think I've gotten about $250 in checks so far - one for SRECs and one from power company for excess produced.

Overall very happy with SES. GREAT people. Really easy to work with, responsive, helpful and know their stuff. I've had two issues that were resolved quickly (within 2 days of calling). One was an issue with my production / consumption not showing correctly on app. Technician came and fixed a small wiring issue. The other was just this week - solar system stopped producing down, an internal error in the inverter. I called on a Tuesday, Dominic was here installing a new inverter Thursday afternoon (all under warranty).

So, stellar experience overall. My only suggestion would be that SES could benefit from enhanced client communications system or an app to keep customers informed of appointments / arrival times / delays ... that said, they still did a great job at every stage.

The bottom line is that I did a ton of research on solar installers and purchase vs. lease. Ultimately we decided to go with SES because of multiple, personal, reviews on the company from friends and people who had used them and who gave me feedback on NextDoor. All of them had done the research I had and all of them came to the same conclusion; SES was reputable, did great work, and backed up their claims with actual performance. SES worked with me for weeks leading up to the eventual installation of our system. There was design, permitting, and financing to consider. Once the permits came through, they put me on their schedule and showed up exactly when the said they would. There were multiple steps to the installation (AC work, DC work, panel conversion, interface work, cabling, and a battery installation). Through all of it, SES provided me with delivery dates and they showed up when they said they would. The multiple teams (electricians and installers) that were here were made up of workers I wound up chatting with and wanted to be around; they were clean in their work and in their manners. There was one problem that came up that turned out to be a misaligned cable that must've jiggled loose from the manufacturer (not their fault), but they sent someone out to my house at 6:45am to get it working again. I can't say enough positive things about dealing with them. Take a look at the interface and inverter installation on the side of my house; if you know anything about cable management, you can see that this is artwork that they performed. They even took steps to make sure that all of my state, local, and environmental credit applications were completed and filed properly so that I received the maximum benefit for the installation. Would I used them again? ABSOLUTELY. Would I recommend them to neighbors; WITHOUT QUESTION.

Solar Energy Services installed our system in 2018 and did an excellent job to include a battery backup for our home in Maryland. Recently one of our two inverters failed and they got a replacement from SolarEdge at no cost and installed the new unit as soon as it was received and did an excellent service job to replace the defective inverter.

I have recently (finally) gone solar, after a long period (years, actually) of going back and forth doing research and trying to cut through the maddening cacophony of "expert" advise online. At the end of the day, serendipitously and fortunately, I went with Solar Energy Services: I can't recommend SES strongly enough. Erin was our project coordinator, she was amazing, but the entire team was truly outstanding, remarkably professional, educating me and guiding me throughout the process.

I am sure most people (like me) can find this process a bit intimidating (so many details and options to consider; companies sound all alike; prices are all over the place) but having found SES was a turning point. I have read so many horror stories that I consider myself very lucky, it is obvious that SES cares about its reputation.

Should any of you readers out there decide to go solar, I have no doubt Erin and her people will be happy to educate you and help you get there, just like they did for me.
