They pick and choose when they pick up the trash even if your payments are up to date. Countless times I've come outside to half the trash all over the road and the bins either left in the street or completely toppled over. Today we saw that the truck dumped both the recycling and trash into the same truck and when we called customer service the girl didn't have any information and seemed annoyed she even had to take the call.

Customer service is a joke. My recycle hasn’t been picked up for 3 weeks. I was told a truck came twice yesterday. I was also told to deal with an overflowing tote until next week or purchase additional bags. What’s the point in paying for weekly service when it only happens once a month? The city of Hermitage needs to bring back Tri County.

Due to a mix up we ended up paying our bill a little late, but a couple of days before pickup. Our trash still wasn’t picked up. This isn’t the first time our house has been skipped even when the bill has been payed. What I really find baffling is that almost everyone’s toters are laying down on their sides half in the street the day of pickup. Every week on my commute to work myself and the other cars have to swerve around toters that the garbage trucks have basically just thrown down without giving a sh!t where they are or if they are upright.

ETA: This morning on my 3 minute commute to work I counted 12 bins down on their sides. 6 just on our road alone.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!

I’m honestly not even one to make public posts like this, but since you can’t take the time to respond to an email the city of Hermitage cc’d you on nearly a week ago here goes:

WORST customer service that I have ever experienced. I truly wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.

Why you may ask, well here goes: After failing to provide me a first bill, you abruptly cut off my service. I called as the only bill I had ever received which I now learned from your customer service agent was actually my second bill and was also incorrect due to YOUR error and instead of me being current like the bill said, with a due date of Nov 1st again like the bill said, and owing you $80.70 AGAIN like the bill said I actually was past due and now owed $161.40.

Accidents happen it is what it is. If I owe I’ll pay, which is what I did right then and there on the phone by card in full.

My irritation now: When I asked when you would be back to pick up my trash you told me next week and the woman who handled my call was clearly annoyed. At this point my trash is already filled to capacity and then when a email was sent on my behalf from this city you couldn’t even take the time to respond when all I wanted was a simple apology for the mistake and a resolution. Quite honestly even if it wasn’t a person returning for pick up a hey if you have extra bags next pick up weā€ll grab them would have sufficed.

With that my question is do you think you can manage to pick my trash up this week? Oh and don’t worry I wouldn’t want the trash men to work harder because I fully understand this is NOT their fault or on them but a rather a company issue so I took the trash you didn’t take last week to a friend’s dumpster since again you couldn’t even take the time to respond to the email the city sent you on my behalf.

Best advice I have at this point is do better or at the very least respond to an email from your customers. At the end of the day businesses should provide their customers resolutions and I feel not only do you not, but won’t because you know we are stuck using you.

My hope at this point is once our contract expires the city thinks twice about resigning and that this was my one and only issue.

Moved in march. December still getting billed. They need investigated. This is fraud.

We moved out of our house because we were selling. They made me pay trash for 6 months. Obviously did not need trash service for a vacant house. When we sold it I was then told that I'll get a refund when the new owners sign up for service. Excuse me?

Recently just received another bill for ANOTHER three months. Pretty trashy, huh? So trying to get money for a total of 9 months. This cannot be real! Right? Yes, it is. 🤔

Contacted bbb and finally got a call from the Management who left me a message and she was rude. Why not manage the company so this doesn't happen...try that.

Trash service is not an unbreakable vow. This is not a lifetime subscription. I also think some of the customer service people are on drugs or something. Everytime I called it was like talking to a 3 year old.

They absolutely live up to their reviews. They took over for Hermitage, PA recently and they are an absolute joke. I never once had an issue with Tri-County, but it is one after another with Aiken in a matter of weeks.

First, they didn’t drop off my bins. I had to call repeatedly despite them insisting they were dropped off. Who is trying to hoard garbage bins?

Today, I get home from work and my trash cans are entirely full, AGAIN. This is the SECOND time in a month my cans have not been emptied. How hard could this possibly be?

Genuinely the worst service I’ve seen out of a waste management company. Truly mind blowing. By the way, I notice my checks clear, but the service just isn’t being rendered. Keep up the good work, Aiken.

Not sure why so many negative reviews. I've never had an issue with them at all. Always on time, reasonable rates.

I called and canceled trash service because I was selling my home on 6/17. On 10/14 I received a bill saying I owe for (2) trash payments.

No one informed me I needed to ā€œapply for a temporary suspensionā€ with SR borough.

Clearly, Aiken Refuse is incompetent and does not inform their customers what needs to be done to fully ā€œcancelā€ their trash services.

In addition, they promised a refund for unused services.

***Update: 12/2/24***

I filed a complaint to the BBB and Aiken Refuse did not respond to the complaint. Jamie, still never had a manager or supervisor call me back. I would call back and would get the run around. The sent me another invoice but will not return my call - yet I cancelled services and should not need to pay this.

Still waiting for someone to resolve this issue….
