Absolute garbage experience. This company really do take advantage of military communities and MHO is basically useless. They all work in the same office we even gave them more than a 30 days notice in person and a notice as soon as we received orders and they still charged us the full month and a couple days over. They're also now charging us a cleaning fee which my pregnant wife and spent a whole day cleaning from top to bottom and when they did the inspection they deemed it good to go. They're shady as hell and for the love of god STAY AWAY. If I could give them negative stars I would. The employees there are useless and Julietta their manager is quite unprofessional. MILITARY BEWARE!!!

I'd like to commend the BBC for their handling of my situation. My spouse and I were unable to make rent payments one month, and though by their policy this required that we be evicted, they were willing to help us out. We settled on a signed contract stating I'd pay the rent after my spouse's mid-month paycheck, and two additional contracts for the next two months. Thank you for working with me, BBC!

If you can avoid renting with Cannon family homes, do so. There aren’t many affordable/safe options in the area which is why we were forced to use base housing, but I wish we could’ve gone literally anywhere else. We were given a house on Chavez and while the house itself is bright and looks nice at first glance, after living in it for over a year we found out it might have actually been built with sticks, cardboard and prayers. We lived in one of the duplex houses and the walls were so thin we could hear the next door neighbours breathing. They very clearly just pasted poor quality paint on the walls for every new renter and the walls/siding/baseboards were made out of cheap particle board but if there’s any damage to it you will have to pay when you move out. Don’t even get me started on the blinds. The cheap microwave door was disintegrating every time I cleaned it and we had to pay for a new door. We took really good care of the house and they still nickel and dimed us for our move out fee and it’s honestly disgusting the way they treat service members. Maintenance was called out multiple times for the same issue and it was never completely fixed. Not to mention you are expected to keep grass alive in the desert, with no sprinkler system and nothing provided. Like I said there unfortunately aren’t many options in the area, but just be emotionally prepared to pay the price for living at cannon family homes.

We recently just moved out last month. We lived on base in Chavez North for almost 4 years, we personally had a great experience! Renting off base in a nice neighborhood can be very expensive and we did not want to buy here, so living on base was the best choice for us. The new homes in Chavez are nice and very spacious. We like that it had a 2 car garage and a good size fenced grass backyard. Everytime we put in a Maintenance request, depending on the situation, they would either come immediately or within 24-48 hours. My advice for families that have never lived on base before is to treat it like any other rental, take care of the house you live in. If something breaks or needs replacement put in a maintenance request. Yes, there are rules and expectations, but that's normal with all rentals.
We definitely recommend others to live here.

Read the reviews. They have a 2 star rating for a reason. They take advantage of military families it's horrible. We were given orders 2 weeks out. Not something we could control. We did notify housing 3 weeks out because we did know ordered were coming but didn't know the exact move out date. Military housing office has no control over BBC. They need to do away with the job all together since they do nothing. Housing refused to wave the 30 day fee which totalled almost $1,000. Not only that but they also charged us for 2 days after our 30 day notice and 2 days following the date on our orders. So our orders end on March 22 and they charged us till March 24. And if you question anything about the price sheet they suddenly can't explain or break it down. They told us to EITHER PAY IT OR THEY WOULD SEND IT TO COLLECTIONS. All because we were questioning it. And for all the replies on here saying oh please contact us. For what? They won't do anything but argue and demand the payment. The whole office at Cannon is a joke. Don't do it.....live off base. They also took our Bah the next pay cycle and still haven't given it back...it's been 2 months, and we're still missing our money. They said we would get out money back 30 days after they took it but now it's been 60 and still no money in sight. They would be having a fit if someone paid them 60 days late....

Writing this review to hopefully assist others in avoiding issues If you make the decision to move into housing. When the day comes to finally move out, you better be prepared for every little flaw to be chargeable. Most of us who have been out here for a while know how hard it is to grow grass. If your yard happens to die on your watch, you will pay dearly for it. They provide some grass seed, but it is not nearly enough if you are having to revive an entire yard. The soil is also not very compatible with the planting of grass, so be prepared for a long battle. You will definitely be coming out of pocket if you are needing to fix a whole yard.

Also be prepared for a $100 charge if you give your 30 day notice even a couple days late. I tried to give this early, but they told me to wait instead and I ended up forgetting. I don't remember this charge being communicated with me until the very last day that I moved out.

It definitely was not cheap living on base for 4 years being single with no dependents so this was a big letdown dealing with these charges on moveout day. Just reminds me how much I want to be done with renting forever. They act like we are made of money.

We absolutely loved Cannon Family Homes. Our experience was with the newer homes as well as homes that are now demolished. We loved homes, the yards had plenty of space and the management company was excellent. If we had a maintenance problem they would get to it within a few days at the latest, often same day.

The community pool was fun. But the reason why I am giving these guys 5 stars is the community activities. We have lived in multiple places and this company did, by far, the most community events. The people giving bad reviews were most likely not the same people enjoying the pools, tennis courts and endless free pizza they were always finding reasons to give out.

Thank you for such a great team! Maintenance was professional and knew their stuff. I felt safe being away from home if they needed to get into the house. It was a shining gem of a place I never intend to return.

Cannon Family Homes has been one of the most frustrating companies I've ever had to deal with. More than half the personnel in both the leasing and maintenance departments have no clue how to do their jobs or have any desire to help residents. When we were trying to get a house on base, the leasing office forgot about us twice on the waiting list until we hounded them daily. When they did offer us a house, it was the wrong address and in the wrong housing area.

Once we finally got assigned a correct house, we had to call maintenance a week later because the back door leaked when raining, to the point where half our dining room was flooded. The maintenance tech who came in just installed a new set of weather strips that were exactly the same as the old ones, but at least he was honest and said that these houses (the new ones in Air Commando Village) weren't built with great quality.

I just now got off the phone with the maintenance desk for a new service request. The woman on the line was extremely unhelpful and clearly uninterested in resident service requests. She told me to bring in the bulb from my stove light that stopped working, but when I asked her if there were any instructions for how to open it, she basically told me to figure it out myself. And when I told her I only recently discovered that one of the blinds in one of the bedrooms was missing the opening/closing rod, she said they didn't carry any spare blinds or rods and that I should go to Walmart and buy it myself. She also said in an accusatory tone that maybe if I had mentioned it during my move-in, they would have been able to help. Well, 1) a Cannon Family agent did a move-in inspection and overlooked it, so your company has responsibility in this, and 2) you said you don't carry spare blinds or rods in the first place, so what difference would it have made if I had found the missing rod any sooner? At the close of the service call, she ended up scheduling for a tech to come by because I am going to make this company's personnel do their jobs whether they like it or not.
