This company jerked me around, seemingly to convince and then intimidate me into not getting me to get official recommendations about how to handle the asbestos. They actually created a contract with me to do an assessment, and then told me that they don't do assessments!

From an email:
So, you are not explaining why you created a contract for something you don't do and won't put me in touch with people who are able to do what I need. Your intent seems malicious.

Here's what it seems like to me. Andy was knowingly contracting to not give me the service I needed, and you were aware of it. Your company backed out when I made it clear on the agreement that Andy was well aware of my expectations and needs, and I wrote them into the contract. This makes it seem like you were willing to gauge me ~$500 to waste my time and not give me what I needed. Had I not insisted on a clear contract, I would have been very distressed if Andy had indeed wasted my time and not done what I needed.

Based on the fact that each time I talked with Andy he in different ways discouraged me from getting an official assessment and wanted to give me suggestions over the phone for what to do, asking me questions like "who is the report for?", it also seems like a goal was to prevent me from getting an official assessment and design. When you failed to waste my time through a vague contract, then Andy seemed to be at first convincing and then hazing/intimidating me into not officially addressing the asbestos.
