If you've never visited a Big R store you need to try it. They are a great small town mix of feed store equipment store and department store. There's a decided rural living spin to all the clothing items they offer. You can pick up everything from a pellet grill, to hunting and camping gear, to feed for your livestock. the one in Bloomfield is a particularly well run example of the chain in general.The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

My dad asked me to return a shirt after it shrunk on him even though he line dried it. Got very rude customer service, told the shirt wasn't even a brand they carried (it was purchased at a different big R a few miles up the road) and treated like we had found the reciept and tried to return a random shirt...do better

End of June, we bought a little jeep which had a broken mirror, one of the arm rests were ripped. We bought it for full price since the manager told us they will replace the mirror.A few weeks later (no mirror yet), we noticed the gas can is leaking. We reached out several times and got no replacement of either.
Very disappointed!!!!

Big R in Bloomfield, NM is an awesome store. I just spent the last two hours there buying ammo, hats and beef jerky. Cena, the store manager is an absolute doll and John, the fire arms expert is a gem. The rest of the front end staff are pretty great too. Big R is a dog friendly store. They kept giving my German Shepherd, Xena, dog treats; no need to feed her for the next few days. I look forward to my next trip back so that I can spend more money and visit with the exceptional staff.

I went to this Big R to buy a utility trailer. I was there for 3 hours, the staff couldn't find the keys to unlock the lock that was locking the chain so no one would steal the trailer, there was another trailer parked on top of the trailer I wanted to buy and it to was locked and no key. Yes there were keys to pad locks but there were about 30 keys on a ring and there were 2 rings, they tried both rings of keys and finally got one pad lock un locked. The assistant Manger Rena told another employee to start the paper work, well she waited until the trailer was finally unlocked, while she was trying to do the paper work another employee kept coming over to ask her questions about something in the store, causing the employee to that was doing the paper work to stop and assist the nagging co-worker. Finally when the trailer was unlocked and all the paper work done it was rung up and I am a points member and she rung up the price wrong never asked me for my account number so the price was wrong on the paper work and she had to call the manager who was not working to see if the paperwork needed to be changed because of the price difference, then another person had to go make copies of the paper work and it took 20 minutes to make copies. The young men that were trying to unlock the chains and pad locks were staying on task to get it unlocked but everyone else was distracted and not paying attention the girl doing the paper work had to call someone on the phone 2 times, because she didn't understand what need to be filled out. If a business is going to have chains and locks on items then have all the padlocks keyed the same. Would I go the this Big R again maybe for something that wasn't under lock and key. Since it took so long to get everything done I will need to make another trip to the Farmington area to finish my shopping that I wanted to do while I was in the area.

I am writing this review at the request of a friend who doesn't use the internet. Today they went to Big R in Bloomfield. Wanted me to let Big R know the hay they got for their horses was excellent and they were very pleased. Best hay she's gotten anywhere in the area for a long time. Staff was also helpful and friendly. Phone interactions with staff before driving an hour to the store since she lives in a rural area was also very helpful and information provided was accurate. Thank you Big R for the quality hay and quality service! Will be back for more. She said people please support your local businesses like this that provide quality service.

This is the second time I have come into the Bloomfield Big R and the older female cashier/manager spoke to me in a rude/high and mighty manner.
It may be time for her to take a vacation or hand the reins of customer service over to someone else who enjoys working with people.
I have observed this woman being cruel and insensitive to her employees/coworkers and now it is starting to radiate outward on the customers.
Please assist this person in having a better attitude and work demeanor.
