Power goes out and they keep changing the estimated time to fix and even changing the time when the outage began. If you are relying on electricity just to survive, a multi day outage with no clue as to when it will actually be restored is completely unacceptable. I had more consistent power during my stint in the third world.

zero stars change bank to draft from put in a number wrong draft came back unpaid made good on it as soon as I found out about it. They would not waive the fee then change my meter so they can shut me off from the office really. Never miss a payment in 24 years of service.
Are they kidding? Like I said customer service is zero stars.

Line crews are the exception to the above during a outage they get lights on fast!!!

New review. WORSE COMPANY EVER. My mom passed away recently & her bank (chase) took it upon themselves to freeze her acct even tho she had checks out so the checks got returned. After explaining this to Nancy AND after paying $525 or $740 She still insisted I pay it in full or she'll shut us off. Greedy greedy greedy. Unbelievable.

They really need to upgrade their grid. I've lived here over 50 years and now all of a sudden the transformer keeps blowing even in a little rain storm. 3rd time in less than a month. No estimate either. I pay thru the nose and your service SUCKS.

Great customer service! and best company during storm Sandy I was out of power for only 38 hours when others were more than 5 days. When you call to report an outage they fix it right away.

Been a customer for 25 years. Only 18 of us in NYS. 2.7 utility line they trail in Wawayanda Forest . Lots of outages but cheaper than Orange and Rockland .
Need generator for this area.
Goes without saying.

Outage map is helpful even though restoration times are bogus.

Would be helpful to have 24/7 human at switchboard to answer updates from the field and pass on to client calls.

Investigating community solar would be great. Or publishing info on why not.

25 years ago had choice of Sussex or O and R at my property on Iron Mountain . Coming from down the hill or up the hill .Chose SR because price less per kw hr and CEO was not being indicted as was the case w O and R.

They constantly have outages anymore. And it seems to take forever to get the power back on for what should be minor outages. They used to be a good company, but they’re falling far short now.

Your truck with plate beginning in XEE couldn't drive his way out of a paperbag. He has no idea how to use a signal, drives 10 below the posted speed, and sits on turns holding up traffic

Very Overpriced. Absolutely Horrible customer service. I have never spoken to more nasty customer service representatives. They do not care about their customers at all. Their screw-ups are your fault. Our next criteria for buying or renting a new home will be that Sussex Rural is Not the electric company.
