Had a representative knock on my door stating he does business with Potomac Edision. He states in the state of Maryland I’m “required” to find an energy company that should be attached to my bill from Potomac Edision. He seemed real pressing on wanting my billing info. Red flag. That alone shows distrust and possibly taking advantage of people. Contacted my energy company and they said I’m not required…. Who would have known lol. He said he will be back tomorrow so I’m just gonna troll him till he leaves. Poor business and silly door to door reps. Nice try thou

A total scam! A representative of Star Energy Partners came to my house sometime in June 2017 and signed up my husband, who is NOT in the power bill and is NOT authorize to make changes to my Pepco services into the alleged “energy services program”. The sales rep, Claudia Cox, promised him to save considerably money in energy cost, but the entire contrary, our charges were way up. About $80 for less than 30 days!!!!
I called the company to dispute the authorization of the service and request a full refund. They denied it. I requested an immediate cancellation at the beginning of July and they still charged me for the services until July 20, even 3 days after Pepco sent me notice that their services had been switched on July 17. When I called Start Energy again on August 11, 2017 to dispute these charges, they advised that charges will still show up for one or two more billing cycles! This is a complete scam. It is an illegal predatory practice and more people need to be aware before falling victims of it.
Please don't fall for it... you won't see ANY savings in your bill and the delay cancellation process will cost extra charges... not to mention time and frustration.
NOT WORTH IT! Don't enroll!

Terrible! Bloody perfectly executed scam. Don't choose this service. I feel terrible for simply trusting them. Please don't choose this service. They steal your money like anything!
My bill was 3times the prior highest bill in the very first month after the switch and it never goes down since then.
I wish I could give negative stars here. I just hate this service. I wish I shut the door on that salesman when he showed up, I would have saved almost a thousand dollars in the past 3 months. Such a wrong and damn expensive move it was. Hope they shutdown this vampire business soon.

It's a scam. Don't sign up when a guy comes knocking on the door promising to bring down your bill. My usage has been the same since the beginning, but the month I enrolled with Star Energy, My bill shot up 4X!!

I called up to inquire about the spike in the bill, the representative asked If I want to unenroll with a straight voice. But they would still rip me off for 1-2 billing cycles, according to the "law in NJ"

I would strongly discourage using Star Energy as a third party electric provider. Their rates are outlandishly expensive; a simple $25 PSE&G bill ended up being $80 with Star Energy. The employees are indifferent and unwilling to cooperate with customers.

Pushy and misleading sales tactics, the sales reps come to your home and attempt to trick you into seeing your bill, at which point they will get your account info and sign you up no matter your consent. 2 days in a row they came, good thing I worked for a real energy provider and know about these 3rd party tactics. DO NOT LET THEM SEE YOUR BILL. unless you want to sign up, then its your call.

This agency promised that the bill will be less when compared to PSEg but when the bill arrived the rate was dpible than PSEg even for the second month bill cycle, when called the customer service the service was much worse than bill, they blame customer for their false promises
