I had a very disappointing experience with this company. We had agreed on a date for solar panel installation, but they rescheduled multiple times. We finally locked in a new date. They were scheduled to arrive at 9:00 AM on the agreed upon date. However, at 8:45 AM—just 15 minutes before—they called to inform me they wouldn’t be showing up. This last-minute cancellation, especially after all the previous reschedules, was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. We’re getting a new installer now. I would strongly caution others to look elsewhere. They are absolutely unprofessional.

Our roof and solar panel system installed looks great and has certainly added value to our home. Of course we enjoy saving money on electric bills!

Such a big project is daunting to average home owners like my wife and me. We started out knowing nothing about everything! After meeting with several companies that do these types of projects, we chose Whitman.

One reason was that our research of various companies showed me that Whitman was one of the best; a long time in business with a sterling reputation. And local. A NJ company rooted here, paying taxes here, hiring high quality professionals... right here. Well, that matters to us.

What closed the deal -- rather, quite literally WHO -- is Dave Kawczynski. There was no pressure. (What a relief after being talked at by others.) And he was so educational. We learned everything necessary to make an informed decision. No hype or empty promises. Along with Matthew Cruz, they gave me a solid deal.

Andrew Ludewig stayed on top of the many steps in our solar-electric project. The rest of the team are highly competent and treated us really well too. Julie Criscuolo, Lindsay Fischer, and Melissa Whitman took care of a lot of stuff along the way.

I don't know their full names, but good job by Tom who oversaw roof project. He gave me a lot of tips and advice. Electricians Travis and Will not only did a great job, but also put a very positive face on Whitman.

As a retired Builder I am not easy to please when it comes to my home. I would highly recommend Steve Whitman. They recently replaced my roof and I cant say enough about the quality of work, the meticulous clean up, the communication and the professional approach to every aspect of the project. If you want the job done right, call them without hesitation.

Exceptional. Professional. Expedient. They communicate effectively at every juncture of the process. I do have a solar advocate that I work with but even with him managing my project this company was his prized recommendation and I get it. If anything I may have driven them a little crazy in the beginning but they took all of my concerns to heart and handled it all with grace and sensitivity to my needs. They installed the panels in under a day with minimal intrusion or mess.

I appreciated how polite, informed, and professional their crew was when they came out to my home. They never assumed anything and were always very cautious coming in and out of the house. Even when I let them know they had free reign to do what they needed to do, they respected my home as if it was their own.

I am very happy working with this company and would recommend any solar advocates working on projects in NJ work with these guys.

I’m giving my review 3 months after I received PTO from my utility company. I came into contact with Steve Whitman through Energysage website. Through Energysage I received quotes from total 4 solar companies out of which Steve Whitman gave the best offer. I also got quotes separately from big solar companies like Sunrun, Sun Power, Tesla etc. Steve Whitman’s offer was the Best. Let me admit one thing here. Steve Whitman is THE BEST in the market. They are very professional in their work and they know their work very well. My first point of contact from SW was their consultant Alexa. From beginning to end she was very professional and prompt on answering my any questions and helped me in deciding size and cost of the system. SW surveyor Eric surveyed the property for design and installation of the systems. He was also very thorough and professional explaining every minute detail. Then my interaction started with Lindsay in SW office. She was always approachable on phone and promptly responded to my all emails I sent. She was my point of contact until PTO and she did her job very professionally. When I had some technical questions regarding system’s connection with Utility company meter and location of solar system panels, Andrew in SW office explained technicalities and resolved my concerns, professionally & quickly. And then came installation and permitting. I forgot the name of the crew supervisor but he and his team was very good on explaining on my any questions regarding the job. Installation completed in just 6 hours and permits from township received within next 3 weeks followed by PTO. Special mention about Alexa that she was there until PTO, to help or answer my any questions regarding the project.

I decided to install Panasonic solar panels and SW is an authorized installers of solar system so, they can offer Triple Guard Warranty for 25 years which includes Product, Performance and Labor along with roof penetration warranty for 25 years. Overall, it was very positive experience working with Steve Whitman. I strongly recommend Steve Whitman for Solar System.
