Warning ⚠️ Buyer Beware: Do Not Subscribe! Been with Residents Energy for many years. Note: I had not checked my rate since. Thought the company was saving me money. Recently noticed that I was being charging $7.94 vs $2.51 a unit more than my local Municipal Supplier! When I tried to call and remove them as a supplier the 3 min wait time ended up taking 33 mins. Clearly, they just don’t want people to unsubscribe from there horrible exploitive rates. I was told that I was on a Variable Rate… Pretty sure that just means one that goes 🆙 & 🆙 & 🆙. My Local supplier was able to show me my bills online all the way back to 2020. As I went back I was shocked to just see my bill go 📈 there is not variable rate there! It is just a simple sign you up at a low rate for 6 months then the prices just sky rocket 🚀. In the last 4 years I estimate I easily lost $1000.00 💵. This 💯 a pure and honest review and my experience.

this company needs to be sued into oblivian. They came to our house TWICE and tricked my fiance into giving our account information to them so they could switch our provider. they claimed to be from PSE&G. they were also soliciting in our apartment complex and we only found out because we got an email from the property management. disgusting behavior.

This company is a scam, back in november, this lady showed up to my apartment late in the evening stating that she was from PECO and she was just checking making sure that all info matches what she had on file. Next thing I know for the next three months my monthly bill double, when I called PECO they told me this company was my supplier. And I called this company, she’s giving me all this agreement of my contract that I was never aware of, nor did I knowingly signed up for. They’re a bunch of scammers. Beware people!!!

One of their employees asked to see my bill, unprofessional and wouldn’t take no for an answer as if I was making the wrong decision by not letting him see my rates. I told him I would research his company and I am glad I did. Consider the other reviews it is a scam BE AWARE

This is a scam. Do not do this. It sounds great that they are "shopping for the most competitive rates." You will be effectively paying double. I will be reporting their predatory practices to the state.

This is concerning… I own a property in the city.. One day, I randomly get two letters in the mail: one from PECO, another from PGW. It said that my supplier has been switched from my current supplier to Residents Energy. I can ASSURE YOU that I did not make that switch. Apparently, it’s a big scam, and I have no idea how they managed to switch both of my accounts… now I have another headache to deal with.

Was in costco and was approached by a sales person for a company called "Just Energy". They wanted to tell me about how I could save on my monthly gas bill by switching to them. They were also offering a $100 visa gift card if you switched services to them. I live in Grand Rapids MI after a little more than a year in finally questioned why my bill is so high and to my surprise they were charging .79$ per CCF of gas while DTE charges .36 per CCF of gas which is more than double. Although the agent I called to cancel with was very nice and helpful with my cancellation. It does not justify this crooked tactic, they use try to justify the more than double price per CCF by giving you a 5% cash back every 6 months. Ultimately costing you more with their service over DTE. So anyone reading this please make sure you to do your research, before getting into any contract with "Just Energy" or "Residents Energy".

Someone just came to my door and acted as if he was with Consumers and needed to make sure my "energy wasn't too high" as they were reporting higher rates in my area. He asked to come inside and made me feel really uncomfortable and put on the spot. I was panicking and signed something which he THEN proceeded to tell me he wasn't with Consumers but with Resident Energy. I'm currently freaking out trying to reverse whatever I just signed.

Edit: The same guy came back today, March 19 2025, 5 MONTHS after this original post insisting that he see my bill again because I've "switched over to them" and he wants to check in on that. I have not switched over to them, I spoke with my city's BWL and made sure nothing was changed over months ago. I've been paying my bills to the city as well for the last several months. This dude was very persistent and kept pushing to see it until I went to close the door in his face and he got frustrated and said he would "be back another day". To do what, exactly? I don't know. I made it very clear I'm not interested and that won't change "another day".
