Avoid any sewer line protection plans as they are a total joke. The last 3 claims I had took at least 4 days before a contractor could come out to clear a simple blockage. That's 4 days of no toilet, shower, laundry, etc. It's a total waste of money. You can't talk to a supervisor and they keep you on hold until you hang up. You call back and hold times are over an hour just to keep you from complaining/escalating. I know the protection plans are provided by AWS but that's only because NJ American Water uses them so they should find someone who can actual service their customers.

It is almost nearly impossible to cancel your protection contracts once you sign up for them. I called and spent 6 minutes with a representative telling him I wanted to cancel then he puts me on hold for 5 minutes before he connects me to another representative who again tried to get me to keep the contract. After I insisted I want to cancel she disconnected me.
