The salesman from this company entered our apartment building illegally and knocked on our door claiming his company is with PSEG. He lied about signing us up for its $50 gift card qualification program, but instead enrolled us in the New Jersey Gas and Electric service. The salesman also tried to enter our apartment, which was inappropriate and made us very uncomfortable and unsafe. If you encounter situation like this, please decline, don’t sign any paper and call security if necessary.

BEWARE, SCAMMERS. They come to people’s door presenting themselves as PSEG representatives, saying that they offer a $50 gift card every month. Please be careful and decline the offer. If necessary contact the police right away. If they enroll you in anything, call PSEG and let them know. They will cancel the plan for you. It usually takes 24 hours for information to process in their system so you will have to wait a whole day to get them to cancel the enrollment. Do not let them mislead and scam you.

SCAM ALERT‼️‼️‼️ They came knocking on my door stating that they’ll give us a “COMPARISON” to our current bill from PSEG and that they provide better rates. I didn’t receive a call but a letter came like 1 month after stating that they opened an account. I didn’t asked for an account with them, I still didn’t received a comparison, just a letter and an additional charge on my PSEG. We called they said they closed the account so we went ahead and discarded the letter. The next month $176 was added again we’ve been asking them to closed this account every since then they sent me the contract only to see that someone forged my signature and now they’re telling me I’d have to wait 7-10 business days for them to do an investigation, to see if they can remove the charges. I told them my bill is passed due and I will not wait no longer and will be talking legal actions. They are SCAMMERS and need to be dealt with as such!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT USE THEM AS A SUPPLIER AND DONT GIVE THEM ANY INFO THEY WILL FORGE YOUR SIGNATURE AND THEY LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING!

They're a third party supplier that scam people. They'll go to your door, say they're PSEG and claim "Oh you didn't get the letter? We're here to see if you were overcharged" and make claims your account isn't fully verified or you aren't on a protection plan. If these people do come don't freak out too much because you can cancel the switch by going through your provider who will send a letter to you.

These slamming schemes are also ILLEGAL, which you can file a complaint through the NJ Board of Public Utilities. You can also report them to your local police department which I highly recommend. If you sign a contract under false pretenses and misrespresentation it is also possible null and void, though I'd suggest asking a lawyer and possibly taking the case to court.

This company should've been shut down years ago, they're awful people.

I normally only post positive reviews in an effort to help share my positive experience with businesses. However, I am posting this review to protect consumers. DO NOT do business with NJG&E. They will tell you they will be offering you rates better than what you are paying with PSE&G, but each month you will be paying a lot more. The contract terms are for two years and cancellation is $20 per month ($10 for electric and $10 for gas). Paying the cancellation fees is still so much cheaper than continuing with their service.

SCAMM That’s the only word to describe this company. NJ Gas & Elec illegally started charging me years ago and I will report their fraudulent actions again. I hate gas and would never want it, even if you paid me to have it. I live far south from Ewing and already have Atlantic City Electric which I have been very happy with.
DO NOT have anything to do with NJ Gas & Elec as this company is soooo fraudulent.
They don’t even deserve a “1” rating more like “-100”

I am really upset with them. A lady from this company knocked on my door during a pandemic and claimed that she was working for PSEG. And it is an apartment building, with poor ventilation! Then she tried to trick me into switching to this company by falsely claiming that she was from PSEG and the company just wants to make sure that we got our covid rebate... or whatever. Then sent me a text msg and tried to trick us to switch this company without reading the details by standing at the door and try to persuade you just to check the boxes.... fortunately I did read the text msg and immediately refused. They should stop sending people to knock on doors during the pandemic and make false statements.

CONSUMERS BEWARE OF PRICE GOUGING. As a soon to be former customer, I just found out about this company’s unfair and unethical standards. I recently discovered that I am being overcharged. when I called PSE&G to understand my bill, I was informed the usage rate is determined by NJ G&E as they are my supplier. I decided to compare rates and then learned I have been significantly overcharged at a rate of almost 4x ($1.22 per therm) above the PSE&G rate($0.387). I also learned that we are on a variable rate which is the reason for the significant increase.

There are many issues aside from the price gouge. When reviewing the bill, the NJ G&E portion of the bill, is at the bottom on the last page and it only lists a total and is MISSING the per therm rate. Did not think to check the rate to ensure we are being charged fairly and at a competitive rate. I always trusted a utility company and never thought or expected to be misled. My husband was misled to believe we would be saving money by switching. We feel this is a scam and don’t want consumers to be taken advantage of. Something needs to be done so this information is disclosed so consumers are aware of the rate they are being charged.

I also discovered after NJ G&E lied to me about why my bill does not show the rate, the reason it is not listed is because the company does not provide it to PSE&G so they cannot list it. This contradicts what they explained to me which is they have no control over what PSE&G lists on the bill. Again, misleading and unethical!
