If I could leave them no stars, I would. This company is a scam. Criminal. Completely Fraudulent. They come into your office and introduce themselves as working for the utility company. They tell you they will save you money on supply charges. This month alone, we had $1400+ in supply charges for the (4) meters we have. I called to cancel my account with them and I was told I will be charged $217.50 for each bill. There is some sort of lawsuit with NYS. I added our company name to that. I just had this happen at my home with another supplier. Unbelievable. Stay away from FAMILY ENERGY!!!

Sales people got into our private building knocking door to door. When asked if they worked with PSE&G, they lied (but I knew better) asked how they gained access to the building and they couldn’t give me a straight answer, I closed the door. She then yelled “ILL MAKE SURE YOULL GET A 60% increase on your bill!” What a CULT!!

I signed up with some guy who came knocking. I have used them in the past with decent results. After 1 year, I checked the Con Ed site and saw it would have been cheaper without using a separate energy supplier in 10 out of 12 months.
I read how difficult it would be to end the contract early. How I would have to spend 100s of dollars. How Family Energy was brought to task by Leticia James. I was nervous.
When I called to cancel, however, they could not have been nicer or more professional. I was asked why, then told “I understand.”
The early cancellation fee was even waived.
As far as I am concerned Family Energy is a nice company to deal with. Just a bit expensive.

I did signed up for my business. I pay usually 900 to 1100 national grid now I have been getting 1600 to 2 grand. I canceled through national grid now they called me breached contract asking for 2500 dollar fee. Stay away from this company. They do not tell who is in charge? Who is owner? Scam company. Stay away from this company.

Although ESCO's are allowed to operate and it's possible they may occasionally provide a good price I do not trust Family Energy after their high pressure sales tactics, and attempt to lock me into a contract without allowing me to review any documentation. In my opinion these type of door to door sales tactics should be illegal.

I was working in the yard when one of their agents approached me. He wanted to see my national grid bill so he could confirm I wasn't being over charged. I told him no, and that my bills were delivered electronically. He persisted and continued to explain that his company is just trying to make sure I am getting a fair price, so being friendly I played along and brought up my bill on my phone. This is where it all went downhill quickly. The agent used my bill to phone in my national grid information to his company, and while talking to his company had me sign paperwork without giving me anytime to review the documentation. He then told me to lie about him still being in my presence when the representative called back. As the phone representative attempted to lock me into a contract I told them to hold up, I am not signing up for anything right now. High pressure tactics used like this are reason enough not to trust that family energy is giving you a good deal. If one of their agents comes onto your property and asks for your bill tell them no, and that you will review the companies proposal on your own time.

I am a small business owner. One month ago , a agent ( self- proclaimed from National Grid ) came to my place and promised to give the lower rate for gas and electricity. But when I received the bill , and that is doubled than National Grid. I called at least 10times to ask for the better rate, but no one responded that. This company is deceiving consumers. Don’t switch your gas company to them.

I’ve been using their service for almost 10 years. For the last 3 years they went nuts charging SO MUCH higher than Nationalgrid. I live in 1 bedroom apartment and I wasn’t at home for 2 months this summer (so NOBODY was using my payment). Do you know what my bill was? $60 for one month and around $50 for another month. They are ripping people off and when they tell that they are cheaper than Nationalgrid, they LIE! 😡🤬

HUGE SCAM!!! The rep came to my door and promised lower rates. She lied when looking at my bill and told me exact amounts that would change and drop off my bill and then "coached" me through the verification call. As I had already been looking into a different energy supplier, I was willing to try out a new service because I was promised no risk, no cancelation fees, etc. I looked into it the next day and called to cancel when I found out others had been scammed. However, when I got my next bill, it was over $110 higher than usual - nothing had been canceled as I was told. On top of that they wanted to charge me $400 in cancelation fees. RIDICULOUS!!! It was only by threatening them with a fraud police report that they dropped the charges. I am still having to pay the extra $100+ on my bill thought. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
