I recently had solar installed for my home. I went to Vir Solar. I had an awesome experience. From the initial consultation to final completion, everything went exactly as I was told it would. No surprises. Thad and Amy were great and easy to work with. I had always been worried about how the solar might look after it was installed. I have seem some very unsightly installs on houses around town. The install team did a fantastic job. The panels were low profile and there was no exposed conduit. The equipment that was installed in the garage was very professionally done. The electric bill less than $15? I couldn't be happier. Vir Solar definitely earned top reviews from me.

Not a good company to do business with. I was talking to agent Robert and he offered me a quote. I received another quote from a different company that said they will give me a stronger system and one year free from the panels. Robert then countered with the same offer and since I was already in contact with Robert and Vir Solar I decided to just go with them. As of today (3 months later) I have not received a check for the “free year” and I am paying for the solar. I should have went with the other company. The other companies agent said he would have written the check as soon as I signed contract. I am looking around to see if I have a lawsuit for predatory sales tactics. I have camera footage that shows him telling me about the free year and also text messages. Do not fall for this companies predatory sales tactics.

This company scammed me!!! Stay away!!!

First off, they took off my pool solar…when that wasn’t in the contract. The pool solar was t supposed to come down. However, they only took off half of the pool solar infrastructure…and left the other half JUST HANGING FROM THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE! Anytime is was windy…the pipe banged against my bedroom wall. I don’t explained the issue…and basically said it wasn’t their problem. They hired a company to install…and that is their problem! This is what the Director of Sales said to me…before he stopped returning my calls. They agreed that they made a mistake taking off the solar panels and they would replace it…but…they put up used panels…and they cut the wires to the control panel…and they won’t replace that. I was quoted 1k to fix that.

Also, my breaker box was in a cabinet in my garage(my garage is remodeled). They knew this. The inspector said the breaker box can’t be in a cabinet. The inspector had to come 3 times. Yep, 3 times. And why did the inspector have to come 3 times? Well, because the company never came out to fix the problem. They just left it. For a month.

Also, they didn’t put enough solar panels to cover my electric bill. It has been months…and my lowest bill has been over $400….the highest has been $650.

If you are reading this…just don’t take the chance. They lied. They won’t make the situation right. I still have pipes hanging off the side of my house. I still have a $400 electric bill…on top of my bill I have for solar.

I just had a horrible experience with one of the sales representatives / self claimed supervisor. We set up an appointment to review the option of going solar. He did tell us his intention la were to show up the presentation and get us to sign up. I told him that’s fine but we need to see the proposal. He did about a 30-40 minute presentation about why solar is the right answer out of which about 5 minutes was the money side of things. I told him we didn’t want to do a loan and wanted the full price of the system to review. Once he gave us the numbers he wanted us to sign the contract and I said we needed more time and information before we committed to such a high cost. He insisted he was here to sign a contract and get going with solar. I said that is ok but it’s a big commitment and it’s not good business for me to commit without getting alternative pricing. He got mad and started attacking me for wasting his time so I asked him to leave. He continues to be offensive towards me. I told him I’m sure his supervisor will love to hear about this and he said he is the supervisor. That’s is why he makes more money than me and more than I will ever make. If this is the professionalism that defines this company then it’s not a company that anyone should be making deals with. I know one person’s bad behavior should not speak for the entire company but if he is in fact a supervisor as he said then it is a company problem and not just one person.

Great company! My sales person Eric gave us the best price and was with us through the entire process from design to install. The install crew were very professional and polite. We were installed and saving money even sooner than the estimated time frame. If you need Solar this is the company for you!

Vir sent multiple solicitors to my home on the same day. I have no soliciting signs on my Ring doorbell. The second solicitor that came refused to leave even after being asked over the Ring. He just stood there. I went in person to repeat myself about calling the cops if he didn’t leave and he replied “why because I’m a black man on your doorstep?” Uh, NO, it’s because you’re a rude solicitor picking on a female and refusing to leave! Also, I’m a person of color. Using colorism against another colored person…not cute. Truly creepy guy.

No more electric bills! A huge thank you to my salesman Eric for answering all of my questions and guiding me through the install. He was there on install day to ensure everything went smoothly. I got a great price and now I am generating my own power. They even installed new smart thermostats and energy efficient lightbulbs in my home.

Imari was amazing he offered great customer service , answered all our questions and was always keeping me up to date on the process of my solars being installed. Definitely reccomend him for anyone who is interested in getting solar.
