I started this project in November 2023. I had my solar panels installed in January 2024. The electrical panel was to be upgraded also. I have contacted The Energy Co many times, both email and phone message concerning the status of my panel upgrade. As of July 2024 the permit is still sitting in my city planning division and is awaiting 2 corrections. The energy company will not make the corrections and will not finish my project. I have $20,000 worth of solar panels sitting on my roof, doing NOTHING. This is the worst company I have ever worked with.

I've been in solar for 7 years and this has been the worst experience I've ever had with a solar company. As an independent contractor, I sold several projects for The Energy Company and here's why I'm giving them 1 star:

Incompetence: Multiple projects missed deadlines due to their inability to resolve issues promptly. Installations failed inspections, leaving customers with no solar production for months.

Awful Communication: Once signed, they stopped answering calls and emails, leaving both reps and customers in the dark.

Terrible Customer Service: Almost every one of my clients had negative experiences. It's clear they don't care about satisfaction.

Unpaid Commissions: They owe me over $40,000 with no intention of paying. I've also heard other contractors haven't been paid.

Avoid The Energy Company for solar or employment. The owner is a liar and thief and has zero integrity. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration.

I couldn't be more thrilled with the solar and storage system installed by The Energy Company. From start to finish, their team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise.

The initial consultation with Josh was informative and tailored to my specific energy needs.

Installation was completed efficiently and ahead of schedule. The crew was courteous, clean, and meticulous in their work. They took great care to ensure all wiring was neatly concealed and the overall installation looked sleek.

The battery storage system they recommended has been a game-changer, providing reliable backup power during outages and optimizing my energy usage.

Post-installation support has been top-notch, with the company promptly addressing any questions and helping me understand my new energy monitoring system.

Since going solar, my electricity bills have plummeted, and I'm proud to be reducing my carbon footprint. I highly recommend The Energy Company for anyone considering solar and storage solutions. They've truly exceeded my expectations in every way.

We have tried with multiple companies to go solar over the last couple years but couldn’t due to our roof condition. After my husband retired we were ready to work on the house and get solar. The Energy Company provided us with an exceptional experience. We were able to fix our roof and get solar and battery storage with the PPA financing with no out of pocket cost. After all these years we’re really happy with our choice. I highly recommend The Energy Company!

I recently had solar installed by The Energy Company on my house in San Diego, and I couldn’t be happier with how it went. From start to finish, everything was handled professionally and smoothly. The Energy Company covered a portion of my re-roof and coordinated all the work and scheduling with the contractor and the city.

The solar and battery installation was completed in one day and the inspection with the city was completed the following week. We expected to receive activation from SDGE in 60-90 days, but SDGE approved it in 21 days.

Overall, it was great experience and I highly recommend The Energy Company if you’re interested in switching to clean energy.

I wanted to bring to your attention some concerning issues regarding The Energy company I have recently worked with. Unfortunately, I have experienced firsthand their failure to fully compensate for the work completed, including withholding commission payments for no aparent reason. This has led to legal complications for both contractors and customers.

I strongly advise caution when considering any business dealings with this company, as their financial instability has resulted in unfinished projects and dissatisfied customers.

I bought into the program before the state deadline in March 2023. When the solar was installed they used the wrong fasteners to put it on plus the guidelines were mot followed for the wiring. They drilled through the roof and upstairs living room ceiling. Their system was bogged down with complaints snd nothing was happening, then hurricane Hillary dumped 4 inches of rain. Roof needed repaired and I paid for it myself. Their guarantee is bogus. I am still trying to get my money back from roof replacement for the damages. All the while they are locked on my bank account taking my money each month. Where does it go?

I was always hesitant to look into solar panels because of the cost. We had many sales rep try and get us to hear their spiel about solar panels but our 4 dogs would usually chase them away. Our sales rep at The Energy Company, Carlos Pedro, was not thwarted by our silly dogs. He managed to convince me about the cost savings and why it would be a good idea to get them installed. He assured me we would have no upfront cost for our panels and that our monthly payments would be the same every month with the yearly increase of 2% each year. We have been so impressed by Carlos and his attention in getting this done for us. The process itself took a few months (2 to be exact). He was there to answer our questions and concerns and made it a point to swing by to check on the progress whenever he was in the area. We not only paid zero upfront costs for our 10 solar panels but we received $1560 in cash which is equivalent to one whole year of free energy. We would highly recommend this company and especially Carlos, who was an excellent sales rep.
