Wow! This is a great place for getting rid of refuge in a safe matter. We made an online appointment, loaded the cardboard into the car and headed to Charm. You drive in and are greeted and asked what time is your appointment. They turn away anyone who does not have an appointment. They checked us off and pointed us to our station. There were workers there to help us unload the car.
There were stations for electronics, glass, cans, Styrofoam, paint, etc. We were in and out in less then 15 minutes.
We will be back with more refuge!

This place is THE BEST! They've helped me recycle so many things that most people don't even realize are recyclable, like styrofoam, all types of plastic, paint containers, etc.

The volunteers are so helpful and kind and we are so lucky to have this place in Atlanta. (As a comparison, other cities I've lived in charge you to dump - not even recycle - a lot of the things they take, like mattresses, porcelain, etc). They also take donations of both good, usable clothes (which goes to support The Kidney Foundation) as well as unusable clothes and other cloth items (tattered or otherwise ruined clothes, backpacks, etc).

If you're wondering if they'll take your item, check out their site. Chances are they do! Do your part for the planet and recycle everything you can here.

Thank you for all you do, CHaRM! 🙂

It was a pleasant experience going there for the first time. Very impressive. Wish there were such facilities everywhere. My hats off to all the volunteers.

I know they're non-profit, but $25 to recycle a small computer monitor is not helping encourage me oir others to take things there.

Smooth intake process to help recycle ♻️ your hard to recycle products. Friendly staff there to help guide you but laid out by sections.

Service is well organized and the volunteer staff are friendly. It's getting difficult to work with the appointment scheduling system, though. The website and the third party service they use seem more and more often to be returning errors and failing to take you through to the page for selecting an appointment time... and usually by a Thursday, Saturday's appointments are all booked up. I understand they use the system to collect visitor data for grants but there has to be a more user-friendly way to gather the same data.

I love CHaRM. You can take any kind of recycling there, even tires and glass AND art supplies for "creative reuse." Also, you can drop off papers to be shredded. A great place for kids to do service projects, too.

I booked an appointment and drove to CHARM today with miscellaneous things to recycle. They recommend that folks organize their drop-offs in the order of each station. I had lots of cables which I turned in at the electronics station. I also asked about light bulbs and batteries. They accept fluorescent bulbs not LEDs. They accept rechargeable batteries only. In their donation station, they accepted books in usable condition, along with a very long list of household items, clothing, etc. I am very happy to see that donations will benefit CHOA. I will definitely plan for frequent trips now. A great experience. Everything is super orderly and it's great to see so many like-minded recyclers. Every little bit we recycle helps the environment.

Update: I returned for another round of recycling. Just a note about recycling straws in Plasticville. They would like to have paper removed from new straws. I brought a bagful of mostly new unused straws today, and they sweetly volunteered to remove the wrappers for me. Next time, I will ensure all paper is removed before I come. Such nice folks at CHARM.
