I have lived in Walton county 47 years I now live in a mobile home that is less than 1,000 ft² and I get a light bill that is $349 this company in the '80s used to be decent now I can honestly say it is probably one of the worst light companies I have ever seen

After a recent encounter with Manager "Lynette," I now understand why this company receives such low customer service ratings. It seems that if the management lacks strong customer service skills, it's no surprise that their entry-level representatives do as well. Today, I encountered an issue regarding the power connection at one of my rentals. While I understand that rules are rules, I was informed that I could submit proof of ownership, which I promptly did by obtaining the documentation directly from the tax assessor's office. As a real estate broker, I am aware that this documentation should be sufficient.

To put it briefly, my conversation with Lynette was disheartening. It became evident that she had selective listening skills, focusing on disagreement rather than seeking understanding. I found her lack of empathy and her tone of voice off-putting. As paying customers who contribute to the success of this company, it is disheartening to feel that our voices are not valued, which likely contributes to the company's poor ratings. My suggestion to Walton EMC is to invest in training their employees to improve their communication skills, conflict resolution techniques, and educate them on how to verify proof of ownership before rejecting it based on superficial assumptions. Today's experience was highly disappointing, and if given the choice, I would consider switching to another service provider.

So I made my payment on my bill on a Wednesday night. Thursday my gas was cut off. I called all that day and could not get anybody on the phone to get it cut on. Friday morning someone answered and I told her my situation about my service. It was at 730/8:00 am as I was on the phone. Told her I have small children and wanted to know the soonest someone can come out. She decided that we could wait on getting our gas turned back on till Monday. I explained I have a 8 yr old and 2 more small children. She says again she isn't sending nobody out here till Monday. Nobody was available. I called back and asked if anything had changed in possible assistance. Again got the same response but in a more nastier and rude manner than before. So my wife said call and tell them you smell gas. See how fast someone can come. Within 30 mins someone arrived. He came and did his check around the property. I asked if he could get permission to activate the gas. He said they should be able to send someone but all I got was attitude from the customer representative. I can't believe that I had to send my children away because I have no gas and I made my payment well ahead of time. The customer service was not helpful or able to assist me with what was a simple fix.

I set up my account. This use to be an amazing company!Not so much anymore...No respect, No follow thru, Lack of customer service skills, I could go on but it would do no good! Let me just say DO YOUR JOB PLEASE ! Set up peoples accounts like they ask and don't blame others! So their food is not destroyed and pets are not left in the heat! CARE!!!

In the past year or so Walton EMC has started predatory billing practices. Been with Walton EMC for 10 years and never had my power turned off. Ever forget to pay the power bill? Happened to me once. Missed one payment and they cut my power off before the next bill was even dude, charge you a re-connection fee, $300 security deposit and no telling what else. I don't know what happened to this company but it's not the same as it used to be. (Second review because the first one was deleted)
