OPINIONS & REVIEWS

With 137 reviews on Google My Business, the Cherokee Center for Nursing and Healing has received an average rating of 3.8/5. Many reviewers appreciate the kind, caring, and knowledgeable staff, as well as the cleanliness of the facility. However, some have expressed disappointment with the lack of therapy services provided over weekends and holidays.

Example review: "My father has been here for a week for rehab after a hospital stay. The facility is old but clean, and the staff on his hall has been wonderful. They are kind, caring, and knowledgeable, respond as soon as possible after you call, and treat my father with respect. He did not receive Physical and Occupational Therapy over weekends and holidays, and that was a bit disappointing because it lengthened his stay. Hope to get him home soon, stronger."

Kathy at the front desk is fabulous. She's so good to my mother and to us when we visit. We just love her. Misty Ingram has been here the entire time my mother has been here and is always extremely helpful and so nice. We appreciate her so much. Nurse Rebecca is one of our favorites and it so easy to communicate with and so sweet to mama. No facility is perfect, I'm sure but we've mostly had a very pleasant experience in the 3 years my mother has been here.

Older facility but meets the needs of the patients. I feel that more money could be spent to making patients rooms lively and warming instead of boring and somber. Needs life. Staff members are friendly and will assist whenever asked. It took about a week for them to warm up to us thou.

The nurses and staff are very caring and professional starting with Kathy the receptionist as you walk in, James Maddox, Misty and Arielle help me with any questions I have and explain it in simple terms. Erin is a Godsend and walks me through the necessary procedures. The day and night nurse staff are there to help my wife 24/7 they are too numerous to list individually I don’t believe a person like myself could ask or assemble a better team with Dee at the helm I am worried free. The activity team are worth their weight in gold. No negatives here I wish I could rate it more than the maximum five stars allowed.

Very nice place! The staff is off the hook. Team work is excellent. Residents are very happy and feel like home. This is another family where work is not hell but a place where people from different background put together as a team, brothers and sisters to achive a goal.

This facility is older, but well maintained. The staff was helpful and friendly. I’m looking for a rehab center for a friend and I feel I could recommend this facility from my tour.

In 2022, the Daytime office staff were helpful, but the nurses that distribute meds were rude and sometimes gave med s 3 hours apart instead of 8 hours. The aides were slow to respond to the request light claiming they were understaffed. My mother’s meds were changed by their doctor and she became delirious. A few weeks later, she was found with her eyes darting back and forth and low blood sugar. She died 4 days later.

She was not diabetic, but needed assistance eating because of hands being deformed due to Ra. She was not being helped at meal times when I was there. They would drop her tray off and I would ask about her soft food diet (which she never got) and her assistance eating and they would say they’d have to check Hewitt the nurse and never return. I formally complained to no avail. She was only there for a month and 1 week. Part of that was rehab. I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else. I never should have placed her there. Please don’t use this place.

As soon as you walk in, feels like home. Warm greeting from Kathy definitely puts this facility over the top of similar facilities in the area. Generally clean and patients taken care of.
