I researched several solar companies that operate here in Vermont and decided on GMS for a few reasons. First was the responsiveness and thoroughness of the sales rep (Shannon). He was prompt, courteous, professional and explain all of the in and outs of solar very well. The second was their reviews and feedback from other customers (a few were personal friends of mine) and they all recommended GMS also for a variety of reasons.

Overall the sale and installations went well. The panel were being installed on a large garage that I was getting built before the solar install so there was a fair amount of back and forth communication with the project team. Once we finalized on a date, the installers (and electrician) were here promptly on time and installed and fully connected the panels (27 of them!) in a day and a half. They worked extremely efficiently, professionally and were a pleasure to work with.

Then about a week later, Green Mountain Power came by and swapped the meter GMS installed with a new meter (to presumably deal with crediting back to the grid) about a week later and they completed that in less than 1 hour.

For those interested, you can also install an app on your phone and monitor the solar power production near real time. I included a few screenshots of that here also.

I'm looking forward to our first electricity bill (ya..I didn't think I'd ever say that either!) to see how much we will save!

Payback for us is estimated at 8.5 years and then it's no charges for electricity after that. A win for our pocket books and win for the environment.

All the paperwork covering the panels, the battery two heat pumps, and payment schedule was timely, understandable, and well organized. All our inquiries were promptly addressed.
