Scammers! Great American Power switched my electricity supplier without my permission. Misleading calls, deceitful promises, and unauthorized changes that cost me extra money. Stay far away from this company—they do not operate honestly

Yes they are scammers. They don’t tell you the truth. They told me that they just needed to verify that my bill was up to date and I qualify for the gift card and light bulb. I specially told them that I didn’t want any type of change to my bill. Several days later I get the news that my supplier had been changed. I’m reporting them to the Public Service Commissioner. They almost caused me to have a $150 termination fee. Great American power you need to train your representatives better and stop the scamming!!!!

I'm just learning about this business. This supplier is actually a good supplier. They do give out $50.00 gift rewards every month for the next 3 years for all who pay their light bill. They have you at a set rate for three years, when you know that our light bill goes up twice a year. You will recieve green energy, and it's FREE CANCELLATION, you don't get charged to cancel. Some of the representative left a bad reputation for GREAT AMERICAN POWER, when actually, they are a great supplier for your light bill. You have to give them a chance. I did.

This company is a scam. They called me asking for my Duke Energy account number and other personal information claiming they can help me reduce my bill. They've called me multiple times, twice insulting me calling me nasty derogatory names at my place of employment. The man on the line couldn't verify a correct address where they or the headquarters were located. Very rude people, red flagged right away as an illegitimate operation. If I could give this 0 stars I would. I reported them to the FCC and my company's security department.

I kept the Indian "gentleman" on the phone for a long time. He was desperate to get me to reveal my customer number for electricity. Of course, I knew not to give that. Tried to get me into Great American or Direct Energy. Both companies have many negative reviews. So I worked that angle with him, i.e. "why would I want to switch to a company that has bad reviews?" I then "thanked" him for letting me know that my fake rate I gave him was too high and I would be looking into changing my supplier. "Thanked" him profusely and got off the call. Constellation and NRG are both good companies I have used."

After I specifically told this company to not contact my elderly father to request switching his service from BGE to their company, they got to him, somehow tricked him into sharing his account number and fraudulently switched his power services to his company. He has not lived in his home or 4.5 months, yet this company has charged excessive fees for a house with zero electric and gas activity. I am giving the company one week to refund all unauthorized and therefore excessive fees before I report the to my state attorney general and other authorities.

I have had a great experience with Great American Power over the last 6 months. Customer service has been very helpful when we changed our plan mid contract, did not charge us anything to switch to a more suitable plan saving me an additional $50 a month. I would definitely recommend.
