We live in a rural area where water has only been established for a few years and we’re still on a well. When the pump needed replaced we decided to go ahead and switch to city water. When I told Heather we didn’t have any water source she put in an emergency meter setup and they came the same day! They originally said it could take up to 3 weeks. I really appreciate the way she and her coworkers moved quickly so we could have water again.

They can't get a simple problem fixed so they can contact me about a due balance instead of helping me fix the problem they tried to threaten my manhood an my ego I guess by stating that maybe I should pay my bills.this was not helpful and now I cannot even get them to answer the phone to help with paying my bill out of spite and my water is still cut off.

They lie to customers leaving them without power for 7 hrs before sending someone to assess the power outage. I feel a class action coming their way shortly. I'll try to keep them in litigation until they go bankrupt and a larger more honest company buys them out. You're welcome calhoun

I have never had such difficulty with making a payment to a company. For a department called "Customer Service," they sure could use some training in hospitality. Every time I call and speak with someone, they are so rude! At first I thought that maybe they were just having a bad day, but after it has happened multiple times, I know it is a lack of professionalism.

There was an issue with our bill a couple months ago, and the money for the bill got deposited back into our account. We went twice to try to pay it, and they told us after making sure they have the right phone numbers, that they would call us when it showed unpaid in their system. We received an email and went to pay on the 3rd day, and they said it still showed up-to-date in their system and that they would call us when it didn't. The next day, a lady came to turn off the power, and when we went by there, they tried to charge us a $40 reconnect fee and stated they had tried to call us, when there wasn't a missed call on either phone.

Then, last week we received a bill advising us we were past due but it, with the current amount would be due on the 5th. I got a phone call Thursday telling me our power will be disconnected if balance was not paid in full. I'm not entirely sure how they can shut off your utilities when you're not even a month behind.

One thing is for sure, I cannot wait until either they make it where it's not mandated to have this company manage all utilities of the city or that I am able to move out of the city. I hate this company.

I am positive that this is the worst customer service I have received when it comes to utilities. I emailed them about terminating service being very formal and in return I get a message that is in all CAPS and poorly phrased. They supplied me with no instructions or explanations about why or what I needed to do in order to finish termination my service with them. I instead had to email them back asking what they needed from me. The final message I received was, once again in all caps, a message demanding me to supply them with a address or I would not get my deposit back. I found that to be very unprofessional and uncaring towards their customers that they are suppose to care about.

Calhoun Utilities will rip you off. If you pay cash, always have your receipt. They told me I already payed it when I showed up, then later got told I was late. The lady I talked to about it denied it about telling me it was already paid. She lied. Ridiculous fee if water gets shut off and they charge almost $3.00 just to use your card to pay on phone. They are nothing like NGEMC, at least the power company will help you if you need it.

Have had my water shut off twice now even though my bill was paid on time. Was given the excuse that there was a new employee in the billing department. So here I sit with no water because I refuse to pay $100 for them to come turn it back on when this was not my error. No one had access to see your account after 5. Well news flash water dept. Us blue collar hard working people don't usually get home until after 5! So unacceptable! !!

This place is terrible. After my wife went to make a payment to restore water that had been shut off earlier, they cancel the phone payment she made without informing us. After investigating the next morning why we had no water yet, we were then told about the payment being cancelled. After trying to make time to get to the office to pay the cash, they inform us that we are now "after hours" at 4:45pm and would have to pay $100 extra up front to turn it on. So we are now 2 nights without water and no help or compassion from Calhoun Utilities. I really wish we had other options for utility services...
