We had a fantastic afternoon climbing in Joshua Tree National Park with Joshua Tree Lizard. Our guide Loren was so knowledgeable about both climbing and the desert, but most importantly, he was able to make that knowledge accessible and enjoyable for our family (two adults and two boys aged 9 & 7).

We had a mix of climbing experience and Loren was able to cater to us all, encouraging everyone to do their best and offering pointers at each person's level. Our oldest has been climbing in a gym for the last few years, but this was his first climb outside. It was so fun watching him take on each challenge and to learn more about climbing gear, safety and technique from Loren.

Additionally, booking was really easy. We contacted Ali just two days before and he responded immediately and was able to schedule us in. Communication about what was needed and where to meet Loren was very clear and prompt.

Truly such a fun adventure. I will definitely use Joshua Tree Lizard for our next climbing adventure and will recommend them to our friends and family in LA.

All around 5 STARS! Wish I could give Ali more stars if possible. This was my first outdoor climbing experience and I was feeling very anxious, nervous and scared at times but I felt so safe and comfortable with Ali’s experience and knowledge. Ali does a great job of making you feel safe while also instilling the highest confidence in yourself. I would totally recommend Ali as a guide to any of my family and friends. Ali went above and beyond to take the best pictures and videos of my first climbing experience. Ali has a very welcoming personality, he was super funny and easy to talk to! Thank you so much for everything, Ali. You rock (pun intended)

When we decided to go to Joshua tree, we knew we expected to see beautiful landscape but not much more, however Ali turned this experience into one of our most memorable days in America. We booked the Joshua tree Lizard’s climbing and cave exploring experience despite never having done either of them. Ali was a super instructor and so patiently and professionally showed us all the ropes! 😉 He was cheerful, knowledgeable, caring and understanding of all of our concerns. We were a team of adults with our 14 year old niece who absolutely enjoyed both of those activities alongside us. We highly recommend this tour as it would turn your visit to this beautiful national park into a very special and memorable experience.

We had a fantastic experience with Ali. We both have been climbing indoors for years, but hadnt climbed outdoors. Ali was friendly, knowledgeable, and paitent. He was able to take us to a few spots that were perfect for our experience and offered both fun and challenging routes. He took time to teach us new things and made sure the experience was tailored to us. We'd highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun experience in Joshua Tree.

We had an exceptional experience with JT Lizards and thoroughly enjoyed our day with our guide, Zarrin. Zarrin was professional, knowledgable and kind with our kids (ages 7 and 10). He took us to several great spots and engaged with the kids at the levels they were willing to engage at in a fun and playful way. He had a quiet confidence that made complex anchor-setting look easy, and he openly shared about the desert environment and climbing scene. We felt well taken care of the entire time- our 10-year-old definitely has the climbing bug now!! I would highly recommend this group to anyone. Thank you!!!

Ali is absolutely the best! This is our second time coming to Joshua Tree as the kids wanted to do rock climbing. Last Christmas, the kids did their first outdoor rock climbing with Ali and they loved it so much and wanted to come back again this Christmas. I reached out Ali before we went there and to my surprise, he still remembered us! Ha!

According to our kids' request, Ali customized the course for them which includes intro to Trad and anchor building. The kids spent two days in a row learning and climbing with Ali. Ali taught them lots of new skills. The kids really loved it that Ali chose the climbs that are just at the right level for them. My son did his first lead climbing outdoor and my daughter did her first 5.10 outdoor! On the second day, they learned how to clean the anchor and rappelling. The kids were very happy and absolutely proud of themselves. They can't wait to come back again to learn more with Ali!

Something worth noting is that, after the first day of climbing, we went to Nomad Ventures and bought some ropes so that the kids could practice the new skills that Ali taught them. Apparently, the folks at Nomad Ventures knew Ali and called him "rad", ha!

Ali is a great coach and he's very nice, patient, easy-going and easy to communicate. Highly recommend! We will definitely come back and ask Ali as our coach again.
