Reuben did a very good job on replacing our water heater. He is an attention to detail person. The finished work is beautiful. He's very patient on explaining everything and adapt to our request.

We had one instance that we were trying to figure out why the water heater start giving out cold water after several minutes. We had a long call session with Reuben, and he diagnosed the right cause which none of other contractors did.

SunWork is a not for profit organization, which has very few employees and rest of the (wo)man power comes as volunteers (like you and me), who get trained both in classroom/zoom and on-the-job.

Great guys to work with and very friendly at every step of the process. Everyone I had a chance to work with are highly professional, flexible, spend time to explain all the questions I had. They are not only nice to the owners, they are also very nice to the volunteers. It's a Win-Win-Win.

SunWork is a fabulous organization. We used them last fall to replace our gas water heater with a heat pump water heater. They're actually a non-profit that helps people get off of fossil fuels. After installation of the heat pump water heater, our gas bill went to zero! They helped us with all the paperwork that provided help, and they couldn't have been more pleasant to work with. Don't hesitate in using these folks, they get a strong recommendation from me!

It was a real pleasure working with SunWork. We are completely satisfied, and our only regret is that we did not learn about them sooner. Read on for details of our experience.

My wife and I became aware of SunWork while we were already in the process of obtaining estimates from two other companies. Initially, we didn’t think the SunWork business model was suited for our situation, but I decided to attend one of their presentations to gather additional information. The presentation by Elyssa and Bryan provided useful information that we hadn't received from the representatives of the other two companies, so we decided to give them an opportunity to provide us with a preliminary estimate. The cost estimate was significantly lower than others we had received, so we provided one year of hourly electricity usage to confirm that we qualify for Sunwork's services. We then scheduled a site visit and a tentative installation date with Bryan. The site visit yielded information to make a more accurate cost estimate as well as a refined projection of energy production. After reviewing the new calculations, we decided we wanted to use modules made in the USA and, subsequently, to add two modules to our array. After we signed a contract, the application to County Planning was prepared and submitted by SunWork, and plan approval was swiftly obtained. About ten days later, the system was installed without a hitch by Bryan and a crew of volunteers — thank you Larry, Luke, Ignacio, and Josh — with some ground support by me. The inspector from Planning approved the permit to operate three days after that, and Bryan immediately submitted an online application to PG&E. Bryan also showed me how to access our solar production online. Surprisingly, we received an email from PG&E two days later indicating Net Energy Metering was in place. At that point, we were not only producing solar power, but had the ability to carry over any excess power from one day to the next.

In case it isn't obvious at this point: We highly recommend Sunwork for those who qualify.

I was able to install a heat pump water heater with them. They were on time and propfessional and I have a good understanding of how everything worked afterwards. If I needed another water heater I'd definitely go with them again.
