The store is kept very clean and organized. Easy to find what your looking for. The parking lot is very large, easy to find a spot. Has a backup ramp for loading unloading.

Argon tank refills are very expensive compared to other options around SD. Advise to shop elsewhere to save 50% on welding gas.

I have been dealing with this store for over 20 years and have purchased all of welder and plasma cutting equipment and supplies from them. They have always treated me great and I have never had anything but a great experience working with them. I go there infrequently as I am an egineer/not a welder by trade (I fabricate prototype device/implements vs. production) so I have seen lots of new faces and they have always been great especially recently when they referred me to Arc Dynamics for repair of my Hypertherm plasma cutter.

I brought three 5 gallon propane cylinders here to get filled. They told me they charge $4.33 a gallon, so I went ahead and had them top everything off.

They pumped 9 gallons and charged me for 15. Told me after they filled them that they charge 5 gallons for each no matter how much they actually pump in.

Thanks. Would have really liked to know that when they told me $4.33 a gallon and wanted to earn my business.

Well, it cost me getting overcharged $26 to know I'm never coming back here again.

I'm a local aircraft mechanic so I'll make sure to spread the word at the airport for sure.

Been using this place for a while for Gas and never had an issue. My husband sent me in there from Alpine today asking me to get solid core .030 wire. When I arrive, I search the boxes and none of them say solid core, but I grabbed a familiar looking box labeled .030 and took it to the counter. I asked the woman standing at the cash register how to tell if it is solid core. She said she didn't know. So I waited a few minutes until the salesman was free, and asked him the same question. The salesman took the box I had, replaced it with another, and told me "you can tell it's solid core because it says flux core right here on the box." OK. So I just figure the flux is what makes it solid core, purchase the wire, and take off back for Alpine. Yeah... Wrong. I get back and get chewed out by my husband because we are on a deadline and because it costs so much in gas to go back. Now, having learned the difference between flux and solid core wire, I go back to West Air I asked the salesman "you can tell it's solid core because it says flux core on the box huh?" The guy just shrugged his shoulders and said "Sorry", then handed me the box of wire I did need. And wouldn't you know it, it was the box I had in my hand to begin with. The one he replaced with the box that said FLUX CORE right on the front of it.
Sometimes, S*** happens. I judge a company on their effort to make it right when it does happen. And the salesman at West Air did nothing other than shrug. I'm not hard to please, but SOMETHING should have been offered to me for wasting my time. I specifically asked the "professionals" for solid core, and he gave me the exact opposite of what I needed.

Generally an ok experience here. Prices are comparable to everywhere else. Customer service is pretty terrible. Everytime I come in here I run into Larry who is always rude. None the less I like these guys better than Airgas!

It was the worst experience I had in my 38 years as a consumer, I was never treated so badly because I was just walking around the store and checking the available products, reaching the point where the attendant Laura put me, my wife and my friend out of the store for to be discussing the products and deciding what to take for the execution of our work, we were looking at the TIG torches and talking when we were approached by the terrible employee, where she said that if we didn’t go shopping, it was to leave the store, because they were answering with numbers restricted to customers, (since there is no type of sign warning about the fact), after the due approach she said she did not want to appear rude, but repeated in a good tone that if we were not going to buy it, we would be out of the establishment, moment, the WestAir company should rethink how to hire employees, because if it continues like this, the company will go bankrupt quickly, stressing that the fact occurs on 03/24/2020 around 15:00-15:30 at the store in the city of El Cajon.

After working with Airgas for years I’m so glad I went to West Air. Their customer service is far superior and prices are just as good if not cheaper.
