I consulted with about a dozen different solar companies, each recommending various system sizes. I knew going into it that I wanted to own a system, so I did a search for an approved installer on the Go Green Financing site and Ambrose Solar was the first company listed. I was impressed with their reviews on yelp was able to get an appointment for an in-home consultation fairly quickly. Jon Landsman, was the solar specialist assigned. He is super knowledgeable and really took the time to understand our needs. Going solar is a big commitment and Jon was very patient answering all my questions, ensuring we were making an informed decision that we would be comfortable with for the next 25+ years. I was impressed with the software and technology used to come up with our system design. Jon even allowed me to create my own and showed how each design would work for our home and energy usage on the spot. I knew at that point, that my search for a solar company was done and signed with Ambrose Solar before Jon left our home. We've been in constant communication and the process is moving along nicely. Everyone I've interacted with from Ambrose Solar has been great and I'm looking forward to getting our system up and running.

Reliable, thorough, professional.

I needed to find a company to inspect and diagnose my panels and tesla battery.

Wading for the quagmire of Soler reviews makes you a little worried about finding a good vendor. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Ambrose. They have a great set of technology to facilitate the appointments. Their technicians are on time, incredibly thorough and professional. Highly recommend.

We had a power outage on 1/22 and a few hours later it was restored. Because we have solar with a backup battery, this is usually not a problem at all. This time, though, power did not return to the circuits powering our washer and dryer, ev charger, stove, and a few other circuits. And our SPAN smart breaker panel was essentially dead. Ambrose sent Arnulfo out to try to fix the problem. After a thorough check with phone consultations with SPAN's technical support, Arnulfo advised us that our SPAN back panel had to be replaced. After the part came in, Ambrose sent Jo to replace the back panel. Jo advised us that it would take 3 hours, possibly up to 4, to complete the job. He actually got it done in less than 2 and a half hours. Through it all, Jo was friendly, informative, and professional. As was Arnulfo. It was a pleasure dealing with Arnulfo and Jo, and they were great service representatives of Ambrose Solar. And kudos to Justin from Ambrose, for checking in with us afterwards to make sure that everything was back to normal and to our satisfaction. Thank you, guys!

Extremely Disappointed with Ambrose Solar

Our experience with Ambrose Solar was deeply frustrating and disappointing. The issues we faced are outlined below, and I want to emphasize that these are facts, not subjective opinions:

1. Poor Paint Job: The paint job on the installation was subpar, with multiple issues requiring repeated follow-ups to address mistakes.

2. Incorrect System Setup: Despite providing clear information upfront, the system was initially set up for PG&E instead of SMUD, causing unnecessary delays and complications.

3. Unreliable Scheduling: Contractors frequently showed up late or not at all, leading to constant rescheduling and significant delays in the project timeline.

4. Lack of Communication: Communication throughout the process was abysmal. We had to chase Ambrose Solar repeatedly for updates, and they rarely kept us informed about progress or delays.

5. Unhelpful Management: Management was not receptive to supporting us or resolving issues in a timely manner. Instead of taking responsibility, they passed the blame to Tesla, claiming the system’s inability to 100% reflect our energy usage was Tesla’s fault. However, Tesla didn’t install the system—Ambrose Solar did, and they managed the entire project.

6. Unprofessional Closing Follow-Up: To make matters worse, during a closing follow-up call, the owner accused us of wanting to negotiate in exchange for not posting negative feedback. This accusation was entirely unfounded and added insult to injury.

The system sold to us will never fully account for our energy usage, and Ambrose Solar appeared indifferent to this major flaw.

This review is entirely based on objective facts from our experience, not subjective feelings. We hoped for a smooth and professional process, but what we received fell far short of that. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Ambrose Solar to others.
